Dennis Kucinich's 52-year-old brother found dead
Perry Kucinich, 52, was found dead in his home in the 4100 block of East 71st Street.

His brother Larry found him about 9 a.m. There were no signs of violence, officials said. The Cuyahoga County Coroner is performing an autopsy this hour.

Their brother, Dennis Kucinich, is a U.S. Representative from Ohio's 10th District. He is running for president.

44. If you teach people to hate, you don't have to pay for hateful internet postings
I doubt there's some secret computer lab where snivling little freeptrolls hunker over their RNC-funded keyboards posting this crap. It's a lot more cost effective to just use the Limbaughs and Hannitys of the world to condition middle class losers to vent their hatred and insecurity at phantom "liberal elites" (and ignore the actual upper class corporate elites who are screwing them in reality).

I've been visiting the site forever, because I'm originally from Cleveland. They won't take down the line about making the funeral, most in Cleveland actually feel that way about Dennis, but it is out of line when his brother just died.

40. pain and suffering are a measure of damages, not a basis for liability
Edited on Wed Dec-19-07 03:06 PM by onenote
Before you can claim damages for pain and suffering, you have to first establish that the defendant has violated a legal duty owed to you. Newspapers don't owe a legal duty to individuals to tell them about information that might be disturbing to them before they publish it.

That's not to say that a newspaper shouldn't try to contact family before running a story like this, just that they are under no obligation to do so.

51. statement from the Congressman's office

http://time-blog.com/real_clear_politics/2007/12/a_sad_day_for_kucinich.html

...

Perry Kucinich was a talented artist who produced a prodigious volume of work. Some of his works have been on display recently at a local art gallery. He and his brother Dennis were planning another showing of his works in the spring.

"He was an admirer of the works of Klee and Picasso, and the style and structure of his artwork derived from their influences," Congressman Kucinich said. "He was a genius. He had
extraordinary insights. Although he struggled with mental illness, with the help of his family and friends, he was able to lead a productive life."

"The Kucinich family is very close knit," said family spokesman Andy Juniewicz. "This is a devastating loss to each and every member of the Kucinich family. Dennis was very close to his brother Perry. He watched after him, and he loved him dearly. The two spoke nearly every day. He was more like Dennis's son than his brother."

Perry Kucinich was born Dec. 11, 1956, the fifth child of Frank and Virginia Kucinich. The family's travails were chronicled in a recently released book, "The Courage to Survive," written by Congressman Kucinich...

...There were no signs of foul play, Caesar said. An autopsy was being performed Wednesday to determine the cause of death.

Larry Kucinich had taken his brother shopping Tuesday and then took him home but couldn't get an answer when he tried calling him Wednesday, Caesar said.

Dennis Kucinich took a flight from Washington to Cleveland after learning of the death and was not immediately available for comment, said his office press secretary, Natalie Laber.

"He was very close to Perry and he's taking this very hard," Laber said...
