Distraught Student Wrote Message On Bathroom Wall, Officials Say

OCOEE, Fla. -- About 900 Ocoee High School students skipped school on Tuesday after a classmate recently wrote "The End is Near on December 18th" on a school bathroom wall, according to school officials.

According to Orange County school officials, a female student at the school became distraught a few weeks ago after being involved in some sort of incident. The girl then wrote the message on the bathroom wall, officials said.

The student was identified and interviewed by the school's risk assessment team and her threats were determined to be unfounded, officials said.

Two recorded messages were sent to parents via phone, telling them that there was no cause for concern and that students would be safe at the school on Dec. 18.

3. i think it was more the recent school shootings. This girl was distraught--needs help NOW--not jail.

....Two recorded messages were sent to parents via phone, telling them that there was no cause for concern and that students would be safe at the school on Dec. 18.

But 870 students, nearly 30 percent of the 2,811 students at Ocoee High stayed home or were kept home from school on Tuesday, school officials said.

The principal said an unexcused absence will be given to all of the students missing school without permission.

4. Oooh, "end of the world"
Damn, all the times I skipped class with lame excuses like dead grandmother or flat tire. Kids today have it sooo easy.
