Bill Clinton: George H.W. Bush will help President Hillary
Wow is this the message the Clinton camp really wants to send? I find it off putting totally. And if 41 is so concerned of our status ib the world because of the damage his son gas sone, why didn’t he do something to counteract him? This whole Clinton/Poppy thing gives me the creep. And this is the first thing Hillart would do?

Bill Clinton: George H.W. Bush will help President Hillary

“ORANGEBURG, South Carolina (CNN) – Former President Bill Clinton said Monday that the first thing his wife Hillary will do when she reaches the White House is dispatch him and his predecessor, President George H.W. Bush, on an around-the-world mission to repair the damage done to America's reputation by the current president — Bush's son, George W. Bush.

"Well, the first thing she intends to do, because you can do this without passing a bill, the first thing she intends to do is to send me and former President Bush and a number of other people around the world to tell them that America is open for business and cooperation again," Clinton said in response to a question from a supporter about what his wife's "number one priority" would be as president.

A spokesman for the George H.W. Bush was not immediately available to comment on whether the former president would chip in some diplomatic help after his son leaves office next year.

Clinton and the elder Bush, rivals in the 1992 presidential election, have grown chummy in recent years, often traveling and appearing at public events together. In 2005, they started a charity to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.” Cont…

2. This Has Nothing To Do With A Hate Fest
And to say so arbitrarily is like saying we must agree with everything her campaign (or any of them) says. Or are we supposed to be yes men/women and just shut up and not express a view if it's not favorable? I have always found the Clinton/* buddy show disquieting and I find this to be extremely so.

7. Exactly
Reading that made me want to run for the hills. I don't want any type of * anywhere near our government ever again. Haven't they done enough damage already? And why can't BC see that? Is it that he doesn't get what's been going on in this country the last 7 years? Or is he trying to ruin her campaign?

5. It does seem odd
I wonder if she can control what he says and does. She does seem to want to cozy up to the powerful. Maybe she feels powerless because she does not come from an ultra rich family?

6. Non-partisanship only works for "THEM", not for any of us.
This little Poppybush/Clinton love affair just proves that they are all in this together and we are just the serfs.

13. I always thought of Clinton as a pretty shrewd politco...,
Did he really mean to say that? I don't think that was the brightest idea he's ever had.

Edited on Tue Dec-18-07 05:59 PM by fujiyama
Bill has completely lost it.

Personally I don't understand how this kind of statement helps his wife's campaign. I can't imagine Democratic primary and caucus goers being big fans of Bush Sr.
