Lieberman you worthless SOB.

(I didn't want to bury that thought inside another thread.)

6. Nobody should be "trusting" him!
WHY are you trusting him? He's not even a Democrat!

Why are people getting pissed about this?

10. you miss my point, which is this:
it's obvious to me that inside the political soul of at least some Democratic conservatives (not centrists - conservatives), much as they're usually the ones to bray about loyalty to the party, there is that little imp just dying to vote for a Republican.

And yes, I know Lieberman isn't a Democrat, but that's only because he got his ass beaten in a primary.

11. He was thinking that the political climate called for distancing himself from Clinton
He was thinking that Lieberman was a liberal--oh yes, a liberal--and progressive kinda guy.

He was thinking that Holy Joe had moral authority, due to his observant faith, and his speech on the floor of the Senate post-Monica.

What wasn't he thinking? He wasn't thinking a drunken wee cowboy would steal the election, hop into a bullshit war in the ME, and turn Holy Joe into a rabidly paranoid Pro-Israelite who grew more suspicious by the day, who became hysterical over the thought of increasing Islamic-based terrorism, and who moved so far to the right on defense issues because he was blinded by a combination of fear and anger. He wasn't thinking that his former running mate would become so drunk with, and married to, power that he'd run any con, pull any string, to hang on to his seat.

Holy Joe and Hadassah were the 'adorable couple' back then. "Ooooooooh, won't it be CUTE to have an Orthodox Jew as VP?? Aren't we such a trendy and progressive country!!!"

Context is EVERYTHING.

5. Well I mean, if he feels strongly about the war and the Surge
Would you expect him to endorse someone who does not share his one main issue.

How the hell does this suprise anyone.

The horse, it's dead, no need to treat it like a soccer ball.

7. I'm so used to Lieberman by now that all I could do was laugh
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 06:49 PM by Hardhead
My Lieberman outrage meter broke a long time ago, with the needle stuck past the red line. He and McCain have flirted for years, but now the 2-man Circle Jerk has begun in earnest.

8. He's a Bush Stooge, and McCain (remember the sweaty FL embrace) is the Bush Heir
Though Bush will keep his distance, because proximity won't help the guy.
