When Republicans say "Government is not the solution but the Problem"
Are they saying, America is the Problem, because our Government is "of the people, by the people, and for the people..So when they say they "hate government" they are in reality saying they hate America..Or are they so very stupid as to believe Bush* is the government?

1. They sure work hard to validate government being a problem
Why would you elect someone who thinks they are going to do a shitty job?

2. No, but then they say "We will run the government like a business".
And people still love it.

I can not and will not blame people for apathy. Nothing people can do about it anyway, so why not enjoy life while we've got it? Even republicans I know of and am friends with (a separate argument, not germane to this conversation) have equated job loss with diseases.

Sometimes fatal.

Can't do anything about incurable diseases.

So just enjoy today.

One way or another, today is all we've got.

Or so we're always told, so maybe there's a point to that?

Dunno.

7. Why should any republican bother about government anyway
they usually end up doing exactly what they want. Answer this question? If any body in President Clinton's administration told congress that they wouldn't appear to testify, that it was no sense sending a subpoena they wouldn't honor it, if they shredded official papers, deleted email and stonewalled any and every investigation or question congress asked, what in the hell would have happened?

The republican congress would have sent the Federal Marshall's into the white house and every place else, arrested them and put them in jail. And that's the truth. The wouldn't have needed impeachment, we would have seen all of them in jail forever.

9. And that is the one aspect of being a Republican that I admire.
They are known for being decisive and taking action..I don't approve of their decisions nor their actions but I respect that they get it done...

13. sort of
I mean they start wars but you won't catch them actually fighting IN the war. So it's a funny kind of take action. They've talk a good game about abortion but they never get around to banning it. They talk a good game about lowering government spending but they never get around to spending it. They talk a lot about getting the government out of your private life, but they never get around to doing it.

12. It totally depends on the context
In some cases it is irrefutable that governments, whether those of communists, totalitarians, democracies or otherwise, can be far more harmful than helpful. Bad legislation, corruption, cronyism, ineffective policies and counterproductive laws are but a small taste of the crap government can exude. Mass murder, genocide, holocausts and the like are the worst examples, and all are brought about, condoned and executed by governments.

When considering the republican hatred of government, think of the Democrat's hatred of corporations: you'll find the two are synonomous, and for exactly the same reasons. Doesn't mean the republicans aren't going to try to control the government, in the same way Democrats want to control corporations--to limit power. They believe the larger the governmnent the more ineffective it is at anything other than controlling people's lives. It must be a bitter pill for repubs that Bush has done the exact opposite of what they espouse.

Anyways, I hope that helps.
