Bush asks for more war money

U.S President George Bush has asked for more money for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Speaking in his weekly radio address, Mr Bush said he hoped Congress would approve new funding before the Christmas break.

He said Congress had already been given plenty of time to consider the emergency funds for overseas troops and claimed Pentagon officials had told him any delay in funding would have a damaging impact on military operations.
