Beck: Huckabee will 'implode'

(CNN) – In this interview with Wolf Blitzer, CNN Headline News host Glenn Beck did not pull any punches in discussing his views of surging Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

“I think this guy is going to implode and, if he doesn’t implode, he gets the Republican nomination, I think the Republicans might as well just write it off,” Beck said on CNN’s The Situation Room Friday.

Asked about the naming of Ed Rollins, who is credited with President Reagan’s landslide re-election, as Huckabee’s new national campaign chairman, Beck said, “I am so sick and tired of hearing people talk about how much they’re like Ronald Reagan.” “I wish people would be themselves, not Ronald Reagan,” he added.

Beck also criticized Huckabee’s recent controversial comments about Mormonism, the religious faith Beck shares with Huckabee rival Mitt Romney.

They're starting to eat their own now.

BTW, I didn't know that Glenn Beck was a Morman

1. No.. Glenn Beck will use HIS DAILY SHOW to attack Huckabee
and try to get his other radio-tv pals to do the same..

THIS is why we need REAL journalists on TV and NOT hate-driven "personality/pundits"..

and why we need public financing of all elections..

4. Well, Huck DID smear Mormonism, I can't blame a Mormon for getting mad at that.
Not that I like Beck, by any means. Huckabee acted like a bigot, and got called on it.

2. The Beckster met with Huckabilly to apologize for going postal on his ass on-air,
and to discuss Huck's slur in the NYT magazine article (in the form of the "innocent" Lucifer question), and Beck said that Hucky was not very nice to him, very dismissive of him and his concerns. Mormons vs. Baptists--the American version of Shia and Sunnis!

12. You sure got this part right:
"......Mormons vs. Baptists--the American version of Shia and Sunnis!..."

And a pox on BOTH their houses.

17. Yup. Maybe the GOP will finally see the madness of mixing religion with politics.

5. Why? Because Glen Beck is a Mormon that took offense at a Mormon smear?

6. Huckabee's antiMormon bigotry gave me my one brief second of sympathy for Romney
Thank God that second is over with. But Huckabee crossed a line there. His mask came off. He's a bigot. I wouldn't vote for him anyway, but bigots are dangerous... even when all they rail against are people you don't like.

15. That and saying that AIDS victims should be rounded up
and separated from society in the 90's. Yeah, the guy is a bigot.

personal lives, Jesus-rode-a-dinosaur views.

It's just bizarre that his views get this amount of attention.

10. Beck's Lack Of Disclosure...As Usual
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 02:34 PM by KharmaTrain
I caught him spewing with Wolfie the other day...part of the discussion was the fact that Beck is a converted Mormon. While he didn't endorse Mittens, he said how much he "admired the man". :puke:

Beck is using his shows as a hidden surrogate...bringing up these "questions" about Huckabee and being "outraged" is part of con game to sell books, get eyes on his lowly rated show and give Wolfie some "red meat" to chew on. I'm sure Mittens was happy.

So, even if, like a broken clock, he ends up "correct" on occasion, who cares?

14. Huckabee's approval ratings in FreepTown are lower than Bush's.
The freeps are behind Huckabee in very, very small numbers. They're hoping Fred Thompson is going to rise from the ashes of his own indifference and become the next president. I kid you not.

I can't imagine that Beck wields any degree of influence. If Huckabee gets taken down by his own, it will come from Limbaugh and Hannity and their ilk.

16. The RWers seem to be afraid of a Huckabee win in the primaries.
I was listening to Limbaugh (El Gasbag) the other day in the car, and I got the distinct impression that he'd not like to see the Huckster secure the nomination. I've heard similar sentiments from Glenn Beck, Hannity, and Bill Cunningham.

18. This Huckleberry surge is the best news I have seen in a while
The word has obviously went out to the Reich propaganda outlets, destroy Huckleberry.

Problem is, he appears to be popular with the Reichsprole, in particular with the 'Righteous Upholders of Virtue' branch.

Now, can you imagine the effect on the Reichsprole when their 'truthtellers' start besmirching Huckleberry? A group who, once an idea is planted (such as the 'rightness' of Huckleberry), are prone to maintain such idea immaterial of all fact?

The blowback from the destruction of Huckleberry will not only be felt in the '08 general election, but for years to come.

23. Beck and Wolfie?
That's what is commonly known as a "Circle Jerk" :)

Mr Monotony/Hypnovoice and Chipper Prick selling themselves on the tube to whoever will bother to listen to either... I'm fairly sure that most of America tuned into those two were busy farting or cleaning their toenails to hear anything... Sometimes those tv ratings are simply people who've left the TV on while they went to the Hardware Store...

The Truth is that Not That Many are really watching these cable shows, for instance, there are more folks watching SpongeBob SquarePants than O'Rielly's show.. A verifiable fact :)

Personally I'd like to take the both of them, tie their tails together, and throw them over a clothesline :)

Morons argueing over WHOSE "Invisible Man in The Clouds" is more powerful? Guess it beats World Federation of Wrestling, but not by much :)

I'd give anything for someone at one of these so called "Debates" to walk over to Romney and give him an Atomic "Magic Underwear" Wedgie...

Mmmmhhaahhuhaaa... Evil laughter here :)
