4. Seriously! Cowards, indeed.
And how do you suppose God feels about people who not only disobey him, but disobey him in his own name?!? And to top it off, God made gay people too... and he loves them just as much as he loves anyone else, because he loves us all the same. So, when you hate gays in the name of God, you are also saying that God made a mistake in one of his creations.

I'd sure like to see God bring back the good old fashioned lightening bolt deal... but see, he's perfect, and he's better, and he can love us all no matter how stupid we are.

And this from a recovering Fundy now Agnostic.

You just made me ... well. I'm very happy to read that. I admire anyone that can emerge from fundamentalism of any sort. Much respect to you, and hope the best for your spiritual endeavors.

18. Thanks:)
I have this little problem with hypocricy, and my hatred of same.

A good friend of mine once said, and I'm not sure if he was quoting someone else, but...

"I just love spiritual people. But religious people scare the hell out of me!"

My friend was a minister in a gay metaphysical church:) He was one of the sweetest people I ever knew.

21. Wise Words
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 04:30 PM by fascisthunter
Spiritualism is taught by life itself, I found. I rarely ever talk about it, not because I am afraid of what others might say, but because I understand that everyone's experience is very unique. That should be embraced. The problem with religion itself for me, is that it tends to do the opposite.

And you are most welcome. :-)

26. I feel closer to the "Great Spirit" in an open meadow...
Or high on a mountain top, than in the most grand church, cathedral, temple humans have created. Although the ancient Gothic ruins in Europe are pretty swell:) I feel those buildings put a barrier up between people and God.

I say "Great Spirit" because I heard one of my Native American elders use the term when I was a kid. It is really, I believe, our collective souls...

You always want to ask folks like that how they know that whatever Gays are doing is a greater sin than their own omissions and comissions.

Evangelism is SO f-ed up:

Imagine all of the things those good Christians have done to correct the error of their own ways and then maybe there are yet a few sins "small" or "big" that they are letting themselves off of the hook for, because of this great work of "saving" homosexuals from the sin of homosexuality. So their own sins, which they might EASILY correct, go un-ammended. How does something that could be easily fixed compare to something much more difficult to fix?

How do they know that voting for Republicans isn't a greater sin than sodomy? They know because they claim perfect knowledge of the mind of "God". They are Blasphemers and, by their ethic, they should be saved from their sin of Blasphemy by others who take it upon themselves to publicly point out the error of their ways.

They are all singing ‘Now we don our Gay Aparral.’ That was never in the Original Carrol, it was added by the homosexual movenent to get children to think you are supposed to dress up in wigs and sequins and tight pants that show everything and I do mean everything.

People don't actually think that, do they?

There is a huge anti-gay Slavic group in the USA - they have been moving into gay areas and are planning something big. Read the whole article below to be disgusted...

The Watchmen
Gay rights activists blame Singh's death on what they call "The West Coast connection" or the "U.S.-Latvia Axis of Hate," a reference to a virulent Latvian megachurch preacher who has become a central figure in the hard-line Slavic anti-gay movement in the West. And indeed, in early August, authorities announced that two Slavic men, one of whom had fled to Russia, were being charged in Singh's death, which they characterized as a hate crime.

A growing and ferocious anti-gay movement in the Sacramento Valley is centered among Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking immigrants. Many of them are members of an international extremist anti-gay movement whose adherents call themselves the Watchmen on the Walls. In Latvia, the Watchmen are popular among Christian fundamentalists and ethnic Russians, and are known for presiding over anti-gay rallies where gays and lesbians are pelted with bags of excrement. In the Western U.S., the Watchmen have a following among Russian-speaking evangelicals from the former Soviet Union. Members are increasingly active in several cities long known as gay-friendly enclaves, including Sacramento, Seattle and Portland, Ore.

The word gay with a red circle/slash through it, a shirt that said Gay Is A Sin, that kind of crap. The "leader" of the homophobes.. I mean carolers was pretty funny, in that freeper moran way, when confronted with the question that you don't see gays out here protesting, he got flustered and claimed "but they have an entire parade".
