He said this is his last week. He said it wasn't his decision, but theirs.

Jeeze.

1. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
He makes Rachel laugh a lot, and Rachel has the most delightful laugh I think I've ever heard.

Man, they had great chemistry. That sucks.

2. This is so upsetting. I've been a fan of Kent's since the Morning Sedition and Unfiltered days.

12. Me too. I really love his Walter Winchell-esque delivery.
But why am I surprised? This is the ownership that thinks that Lionel guy is better than Sam Seder.

The sad thing is, that we really need a strong and viable radio alternative the the RW hate machine. Maybe when Green drives AAR onto the rocks, someone else will pick up the pieces and create something better. I fear though, that if Green fails, someone else may be fearful that the format and message is the problem, not the idiotic management.

17. I've given up trying to figure out the decision-making of AAR's management.
I'm hoping that NovaM will pick up some steam and provide a home for all my favorite former AAR hosts.

18. If they could get on satellite radio it would be a huge step.
Right now streaming really limits the number of people that will hear it.

I think eventually someone with deep pockets or a consortium of deep pockets is going to have to start buying radio stations. Right now the RW has almost a monopoly on both broadcast and cable, where most people get their information, and consequently that information spun to them as propaganda.

4. AAR is insane...
Jones is an integral part of that show. Rachel won't be the same without him and "Now, it's Kent Jones Now, with Kent Jones...Now!" And who will be there to shout "MONKEY!" at the "Pet Story"...???

It's getting to be that the best progressive shows are on the Jones Radio Network (Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz) or Nova-M (Mike Malloy). The only reason I listen to AAR programming is Thom Hartmann, and even that's an iffy proposition at times.

Up here in Seattle, AM1090 mixes material from all three syndicators. I'd be interested to see just how well the "mixed" progressive stations are doing, as opposed to those who are AAR-exclusive.

5.  AAR is nuts
They worked so well off eachother . AAR has ruined so many great shows , one after the other and now they have so little left they will lose their entire audience .

6. Sad but true. After years of listening solely to talk radio, AAR has
driven me back to music. If you listen to Mark Green, you can see that he is modeling the station in his boring image.

14.  I don't listen to green
Here we have KTLK 1150 am and they have this freak Mr Mark Germain who used to be Mr KABC for 4 hours talking about nothing during drive time no less . This is our only so called leberal station that used to play the entire AAR lineup when Malloy and Morning sedition were on .

Now it's complete crap with sports cutting in after Mr K . The only other way is XM which we have or to stream AAR which we used to do .

When it was all live a bit over a year ago it was good radio then they cut Malloy back to two hours and that was it for me it was XM , when they fired Malloy I gave up on AAR . I listen to Maddow on Nova M stream after Malloy , In fact i only listen to Nova M or most times head-on radio stream instead of Randi .

and his presence makes for a very good radio show.

They should have a show of their own.

11. Lawton Smalls was awesome
I am really upset about Kent Jones. I always flip to his portion of the show (usually around 6:15pm) and I laugh and laugh. What is wrong over there at Air America?

19. This is bad? Wait until elections approach.
Some persons have control and will use it to destroy AAR at the last minute. That's my guess. They're just working out the details of what they can do that works.
