Attorney Admits Kidnap Story Was False
Attorney Admits Kidnap Story Was False
Dec 11 2007 12:39PM

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A pregnant Ohio attorney who admitted that she fabricated her kidnapping left her family behind because she "experienced a meltdown," her husband said Tuesday.

She never was abducted last week outside a the city's juvenile court building or forced into a vehicle, said police Capt. Ray Carroll.

Instead, she drove by herself to Atlanta where she was found three days later outside an amusement park, investigators said.

Karyn McConnell Hancock, 35, a former city councilwoman, had been having psychological issues for several years, her husband said Tuesday.

"She experienced a meltdown and attempted to handle those matters without the assistance of professional help," said Lawrence Hancock. "Karyn elected to leave everything because she felt that she was unable to continue."

1. I do not understand why these people make these stories up. If they dislike
their life so much and the people who surround them make them crazy, why don't they just tell 'em so. And leave.

They should know they're gonna get caught.

4. Fear of friggin' what. Telling the truth? Remember the 'Runaway Bride'?
She was another one that cost the taxpayers a boatload of bucks.

I take it you've never been pregnant?

Ever heard of 'the baby blues'?

And I do know about post-partum depression. I took medication for it.

10. How much sleep do you lose over that fact? As much as I do?
Which amounts to basically none.

9. The word is 'usual'. And as for the butt face remark, how would you know?

I feel sorry for you. There was no need for you to get snarfy over this. But ignorance is as ignorance does. And you do seem be ignorant as to when to pick a fight and when to post your response and not get nasty.

Just because you made an ass out of yourself with your non-existant ESP skills was no reason to further prove that you really don't have the intellect to be posting in public.

edit: Bye bye

2. Is this the same one found wandering around incoherently?
Glad they found her. Maybe she'll be forced to get professional help now, for the baby's sake.
