Some great snark about Rove
http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2007/12/10/karl_rove_the_literary_genius/

"When I saw you implying that the Bush administration was, in essence, pressured by the Senate to go to war in Iraq before it wanted - before letting weapons inspections run their course, before forging a true international coalition - I realized that you're something of an ally.

I don't mean a political ally.

Here's the thing: I earn the bulk of my living writing novels - made-up stories about invented people - and somewhere in the middle of your bold restructuring of the historical record, I understood that you are, and always have been, a fiction writer's good friend."

Miss Piggy Rover is such a loser. It is really great seeing him made into the clown that he really has been these years. Genius my butt!................L M A O................!

1. Hah! He's made a mistake, coming out from behind the curtain.
His lies are harder to defend coming straight from his mouth than when they were simultaneously read from the talking point fax du jour by his horde of pundits.

2. Could you be clearer about who said what in this OP, and the context?
If the first sentence is Rove (talking to?), what he says is mind-boggling. Although, considering what the current Diebold II Congress has done--a supposedly Democratic Congress--giving Bush and Cheney billions more tax dollars to keep killing Iraqis until they sign over their oil rights, Rove's fantasy gives me pause. I'm thinking, too, of that other bill that was passed by the Anthrax Congress in the same month as the Iraq War Resolution--October 2002--with even more enthusiasm (near unanimity) by our Democrats--the "Help America Vote Act," which fast-tracked electronic voting machines all over the country, run on 'TRADE SECRET,' PROPRIETARY programming code, owned and controlled by rightwing Bushite corporations.

You don't think our Democratic Party leaders wanted there to be no evidence--no ballots TO count or recount--in 2004, do you? Naw. That would be even more mind-boggling than Rove blaming the lust for blowing up thousands of Iraqi children--and hundreds of thousands of other innocent people--on the Democrats.

He has a way of telling, oh, 10% truths (I was going to say "half truths") (but maybe I should say 1% truths, kind of like the vote counting audit in the best of our states--it's better than the ZERO audit in many states, right?). Where was I going with this? Ah, Rove, and his 1% truths. Considering what we've seen NOW--of Democratic Senators like Feinstein and Lieberman--it is actually not all that crazy to think that they might have been even more into killing Iraqis than Rumsfeld, Cheney, Exxon-Mobile & co. They are at the very least equally bloodthirsty and equally guilty. And considering what we know now about Sen. Christopher Dodd and others, it's clear that the fascist coup of non-transparent, corporate-run electronic voting was as much a project of the Democratic leadership as it was of Tom Delay and Bob Ney.

So-o-o-o-o, is Rove mainlining, or what? Were Feinstein, Lieberman and others in the Oval Office, whispering in Little Bush's ear, "It's now or never. It's now or never. We've got your ass covered in 2004. Go for it--before this shit about WMDs hits the fan!"???

Plausible, I guess. Although it leaves out 99% of the truth. That Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove & Co. laid out the war plans years ago, picked a manipulable, brainless drunk to install as frontman, met with the oil cartel six months before 9/11 to carve up maps of the Iraqi oil fields, and sought from day one to blame 9/11 on Saddam Hussein, although he had nothing to do with it, and the hijackers almost all came from Saudi Arabia, a close ally of the House of Bush. I don't think that enthusiastic, warmongering Democrats made any (or much) difference. I think the Bush Junta would have invaded Iraq, IWR or no IWR. The IWR just made it a little more convenient--as the e-voting machines made Bushite election fraud somewhat less troublesome (beats hanging chads and Supreme Court controversies). We (and the Iraqis) would have been screwn, one way or another. So, if there is any truth at all to Rove's mind-boggling assertion, it will be less than a footnote in a history book that may never be written, if predictions of near-term planetary death are true, or whose pages will just float out into the polluted, dead oceans off our shores, as coastal cities get washed away with them.

Feinstein, Lieberman, et al, are the least of our problems. And pudgy, petty, rolly-poly little Rove will get a much bigger footnote in that soggy volume.
