Huckabee wanted to isolate AIDS patients
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071208/ap_on_el_pr/huckabee_aids

As a candidate for a U.S. Senate seat in 1992, Huckabee answered 229 questions submitted to him by The Associated Press. Besides a quarantine, Huckabee suggested that Hollywood celebrities fund AIDS research from their own pockets, rather than federal health agencies.

"If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague," Huckabee wrote.

"It is difficult to understand the public policy towards AIDS. It is the first time in the history of civilization in which the carriers of a genuine plague have not been isolated from the general population, and in which this deadly disease for which there is no cure is being treated as a civil rights issue instead of the true health crisis it represents."

:wtf:

10. Arrested for trying to carry a loaded gun onto a plane, and as a counselor
at a Boy Scout Camp, seized a stray dog that had wandered into camp, beat it, hung it, stoned it, and slit its throat. The guy's a sick fuck. Gotta wonder just what went on in that Huckabee household as this kid was growing up...

Edited on Sat Dec-08-07 11:36 AM by flashl
For more than two decades, the Arkansas prison system profited from selling blood plasma from inmates infected with viral hepatitis and AIDS. Thousands of victims who received transfusions of a blood product derived from these plasma products.

Isnt Huckabee from Arkansas?

6. "Suggested that Hollywood celebrities fund research"--this man is as hateful
as Falwell. Why do so many DUers like him and defend him?

13. When the repubs fully investigate this loose cannon
they will drop him like a hot potato, and they better do it quick. Huckelberry is set to win the Iowa caucuses and his ahead in South Carolina. I don't know how they will bring him down but rest assured they will, I wonder if Rove will be in on the act.

14. Why would the Repugs want to "bring him down"?
The Hukster appeals to the RWing Fundies. Wouldn't he at least be a VP candidate for Mitt or Mr. 911?

15. They will be afraid that he can't win. Above all, they
want a winner next year, and Mike is too far right even for them. He might be alright as a running mate if he is on a short leash. America is sick of Bush and Huckleberry is just another version of him, what the repubs want is an anti-bush. Someone who can appear as more moderate and rational, and competent, on the issues, and Mike just isn't it.
