Is this some of the blackmail material the neocons have been holding on folks? It hardly seems coincidental.

I bet Cheney was really mad at CIA, cuz he thought he had a promise from McConnell not to release the NIE. So he hauls the torturetape fiasco out of the bottom drawer and gives it to the media. Suddenly, those heroes at the CIA who fought top release the NIE look like heinous torturing liars and evidence destroyers. Instant discrediting.

I'm not sure it's working though. Cheney always seems to forget that these things discredit him and the WH as much if not more than his intended target. But he can't help himself. He is an evil, vengeful--and stupid--man.

1. What tape, they destroyed the tapes
There are no tapes.....That is just one more of the multitude of problems with this Administration. Like ten million missing e-mails and refusal to obey subpoenas or letting convicted felons off scott free without serving one day in confinement..We are learning first hand how the Mafia runs...

5. Mafia is such a good analogy. Especially The Godfather.
Except Michael Corleone was a brilliant man, and the Chimp needs help to design a peanut butter sandwich.

Cheney's vengeance and violence is everywhere in this scenario. But he's careless. he doesn't really think ahead, he just lashes out. One day he's going to shoot himself in the face.

:tinfoilhat:
I kinda think the career CIA guys have had it with the WH and Neocons and they told McConnell they would leak this news if he didn't come out with it. I think career CIA is determined to take down the WH, after all, the CIA must probably was acting upon orders from the WH!

In any event, get the popcorn ready, this will be fun to watch.

Edited to delete reference to Rummy, this is CIA not Pentagon, my bad.
