I've been 'on the scene' and had to deal with a violent situation. Try taking care of a 200 lb patient in a violent delirium who wants to leave the hotel you're keeping him hostage in. My least favorite part of the job.

ER nurses have it much worse though. They have to deal with patients with knives, guns - you name it. The closest we ever came to that was when we had a patient who'd been shot in a drug deal gone bad. The guy hired a security guard for his room. We all went through the roof because of the danger this put our patients in. Whoo...good times. LOL.
