Bush says he has no memory of CIA tapes
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=307282

Altsheimers has hit the Prez's office

U.S President George Bush has claimed to have no recollection of being told of the existence of CIA video tapes which were destroyed in 2005.

While the CIA says it wiped two tapes of interrogations of al-Qaeda suspects to protect the identities of its agents, the public have become suspicious and believe the evidence was destroyed to shield practices that could be considered torture.

After 9/11, President Bush gave authorisation for the use of more “robust” interrogation techniques.

13. I don't believe it was because of "torture".
Edited on Sat Dec-08-07 03:32 AM by Contrary1
These guys are assured that they are above the law, because they wrote the law re-defining torture. Why would a video tape of torturing "enemy combatants" bother them? They have skated through that charge before.

Nope. It's something else they don't want us to see.

On edit: My money says there is at least one copy out there somewhere. It could be for entertainment purposes at future neo-con parties, or a get out of jail free card for one of the perpetrators.

16. Plenty of reason to believe him...
Who is to say the tapes, the interrogations, or the prisoners existed in the first place?

Most of the 9/11 Commission's fable is based on the testimony that is now said to have been destroyed, of prisoners who were never produced in public. (The most important of them, Khalid Sheikh Mohamed, apparently survived his killing at the hands of Pakistani forces in an attempted capture in 2002.)

To pretend to have destroyed tapes of this testimony appears to substantiate that the interrogations ever happened in the first place.
