16. I didn't know how bad things were around the state.

The radio reports didn't really say. ( One night I got a San Fransisco station and thought of you, my love.) :-)

We got our food together before it went bad each night and prepared it outdoors on property that had a "pavilion" with a ten-seater picnic table. It was a party each night. Jesus loves us!

Some minor damage here and there from the wind storm, but I was spared...Jesus loves me!

Something died under the house in the cold. Possum? Probably rat. Jesus, mad at rat?

One of my neighbors is an EX-member of a national hate group. Very cool guy. Again, Jesus loves me!

We just got back from recharging a battery for a neighbor's breathing machine and the lights came on as we pulled up the driveway.

I'm just exhausted, and I have no idea what half of the DU posts are talking about. :rofl:

What the heck happened?

18. A big wind storm. 80-mile an hour winds for 24 hours

on Sunday night. Then 40-mile an hour after that for a time.Two major power towers came down, and much damage to the local systems. Some sections still without power.

Lots of flooding in other areas. I-5 was under twelve feet of water in some places-it's still closed. A neighbor is still in Portland, was supposed to come back on Tuesday.

one road had over 500 trees downed onto it. The Chehalis overflowed. Some people trapped in their houses. Livestock dead, crops ruined.

People who've lived here for forty years say they never saw anything like it.

Parts of Washington state was declared a disaster area.

Lots of stuff.

I saw the pictures of that Wal-Mart. Just an astounding amount of water, and a big, dangerous mess. Happy to hear it's getting a little better out there.

34. Oh no!

We were really lucky. I saw today that there was some flooding in town. Someone's shed got washed into the street. My neighbors are great, and we pulled together. We actually had a great time. But no one was hurt or sustained any serious property damage. It was like a week of camping. most of the daylight hours and up until 6:00/ 8:00 pm were spent outdoors.

I spent the nights with Al Gore and a big flashlight. His latest book really does read like a history of the things discussed on DU over the past six years.

I suppose I'll hear/see more as the days go on, but for today I crashed and slept for 6 hours during the day.
