1. Why did they destroy the tapes if there wasn't anything questionable on them?

7. Rockafeller's Got The Spine Of An Amoeba
Maybe he'll type out another "oh poor me" letter and hide it in his desk. Or he'll hold hearing that already tell us what we know. Then he'll wring his hands, say how he's been cut out of the loop and then go back to sleep. Not only should he have known about these tapes...he should have prevented their destruction.

8. I wish I could get excited about this....
... but all these investigations end up subpoening people and information that the Bush admin refuses to abide by causing endless legal sabre rattling and resulting in nothing.

If they can't do something with the info already in the public domain then they just can't do anything because they ain't gettin' no more.

9. You all realize, of course, that this is just going to result in more
ignored subpoenas and strongly worded letters, right?

Gotta keep that powder dry.

14. I can only suggest

that people here take 1/5th the energy they expend hating Dems and try using it to hate Republicans, instead. I know, it's crazy, but try it!

As for reasons? Learn a little about our political system, and understand that a nominal 1-seat majority in the Senate and a very slim majority in the House doesn't give Dems full power.

15. Well, if you paid any attention at all to my posts, you would see that
the VAST majority of my energy (conservatively 99%, lol) is spent in snark and sarcasm and just plain meanness directed against REPUBLICANS, NEOCONS, and CHRISTOFASCISTS.

18. Well
I don't generally follow every post of every person here.

But in sum, this entire board seems 90% devoted to trashing Democrats, and I think that's a damned shame.

All evidence gone, didn't anyone remember Nixon? Aparently the bush adminstration learned the lessons of Nixon, why didn't the others?
