Just a question? Was Bush manipulating oil prices with the Iran SCARE?
Edited on Fri Dec-07-07 01:52 PM by L. Coyote
I wrote that the "Iran invasion" was a false flag all along, trying to get attention back on Iraq. My thought was that Bushco was distracting from their worse nightmare, utter failure in Iraq. They needed justification for continued presence as the oil flows daily, and they needed the debate to focus anywhere else. Now, another option comes to mind.

Was this administration also lying for profit? Bush's lies drove up the price per barrel of oil, and their BIG OIL campaign contributors and cronies profited.

4. Well, he sure manipulated the prices at the grocery store!
When I saw some of the prices yesterday, I could have given him a piece of my mind, right then and there. Everyone was commenting. I can guarantee the prices won't go down as fast as they went up.

I wish that jerk would watch what he says.

13. Food prices are going up due to the useless practice of putting ethanol made from corn in the gas.
Making ethanol from corn to burn in gas tanks does NOT save oil, since it reduces your car's gasoline mileage, and it takes a lot of oil to produce fertilizer, and run tractors and other farm equipment.

Secondly, it reduces the supply of corn used for food for people and livestock. Reduced supply means higher prices. This is why the price of dairy products rose so quickly this year. Moreover, the increased profits are going mainly to the agribusinesses, rather than the small farmer, since such huge quantities of corn are required. This is why the cost of baked goods and soft drinks are going to increase (corn syrup sweetener) and cereals.

It gets worse. Since the profits are increasing on corn production, many farms are converting from growing wheat and soy beans to corn growing. Therefore, supplies of wheat and soy are going to drop which means price increases for those products, also.

There's more. With the supply of domestic crop production for food being reduced, food producers are importing grain from other countries. One of those countries is China...the country that sold us grain for pet food laced with toxic melamine. This country also sold us lead-laced toys for our children. The is the country that we already are in hock to for hundreds of billions of dollars.

The oil companies are profiting from ethanol since they are selling the same amount of gasoline which is now diluted with ethanol. The agribusinesses are happy since they are getting more profit from their products. The grain exporters like China are getting more sales and profits. As long as ethanol made from corn is put in our gasoline, prices are going to continue rising. This is good for corporate profits.

Have a nice day!
