How about a bailout for uninsured people who are in debt just because they got sick?
Many of whom are responsible working people and homeowners.

1. People wanted that in the bankruptcy bill
I think there's separate legislation along those lines.

Would people start putting requirements on that assistance were it to pass. If you ever ate a doughnut, too irresponsible. Drove too fast, irresponsible. Ate bacon, smoked a cigarette, did drugs, irresponsible. No bailout for you.

Why can't people just see the bigger picture - and help when it's needed.

after...

-cashing out all retirement and life insurance to qualify for low-income program (similar to Medicaid) because Hubby needed care,

-going through bankruptcy, AFTER Hubby was officially "disabled" (yeah, like hooked up to a dialysis machine),

-and now living on under 125% of "poverty level".

Why, in a country with so many riches, must one become permanently impoverished to get any medical coverage?
