Iran so far away ...
http://www.suntimes.com/news/steinberg/681272,CST-NWS-stein05.article

December 5, 2007
BY NEIL STEINBERG Sun-Times Columnist

Well, isn't this a change of pace ...

American intelligence agencies, which have been issuing a steady drumbeat of anxiety over Iran's supposed nuclear strike abilities, have just done a sharp turn and announced that, oh gee, the Iranians' nuclear weapon program turns out to have been suspended back in 2003.

Or as Emily Litella used to say, "Never mind."

Can't you just see Dick Cheney, on his knees on the floor of his office, in his elaborate Napoleonic uniform, in the midst of squads of lead soldiers, debating with his top advisers over whether Iran should be bombed first and then invaded or invaded first and then bombed, looking up from his big war map, interrupted in mid-saber rattle, to hear this unwelcome bit o' news?

News that'll make it all the more difficult to blunder into an unjustified war in yet-another Middle Eastern nation.

But don't lose hope -- if anybody can figure out a way to do it anyway, it'll be these guys.
