Bill Clinton security advisor scratches head over "what to do next" about Iran
Nice to know leading members of the Democratic foreign policy team are still taking their cues from the proven liars in the Bush administration. Makes you feel real good about the future of American foreign policy, doesn't it?

Iran had been shaping up as perhaps the dominant foreign policy issue of Bush's remaining year in office and of the presidential campaign to succeed him. Now leaders at home and abroad will have to rethink what they thought they knew about Tehran's intentions and capabilities.

"It's a little head-spinning," said Daniel Benjamin, an official on President Bill Clinton's National Security Council. "Everybody's going to be trying to scratch their heads and figure out what comes next."

3. So Bill Clinton is supposed to be responsible
for setting policy for Iran. When did an ex president have that much authority...but then we could only hope.

7. So this group of liars in power is supposed to be responsible
for setting the policy the next administration will have for Iran? Is no one outside of the government in power capable of thinking for themselves? That is precisely the problem with US foreign policy to begin with. It's divorced from what the people want and need, which is sanity and security, not endless war mongering from the ruling class.

:wtf:

Sometimes I think "our" guys couldn't stay on message with a truck-full of duct tape and two-ton industrial magnets.

10. come on people
the clinton team does not have the same intelligence data as the bushies do. they have to go by what they are told by the powers that be. thankfully the truth has come out and bushies legacy of dominating the middle east and the crude underneath it is all but squashed.

11. Do you take what the powers that be say as truth? After Iraq?
Before Iraq?

There's no law that says foreign policy advisors can't think for themselves. It's just inside the Beltway SOP.

12. they can think for themselves
but much of the intelligence they get comes from the administration. i would assume that they do not get the same data as the president gets.

13. My point is, if even you or I can figure out Iran is not the threat the Bushists claim it is
in the way they claim it, a leading foreign policy analyst ought to be able to figure it out. But they never do, do they?

14. agreed-
i wonder if they can figure it out but are trying to be diplomatic to the current administration. i mean who woulda thunk that they would lie multiple times about something that will cost numerjous americans their lives.
