Happens every Sunday from noon to 1 pm, rain or shine, holiday or not. Protests against the Vietnam war were held in the same place. It's a nice T intersection with a stop light, so people have to look at ya before they turn left or right.
This was the line up as I approached. This is a pretty good turnout, considering it was in the 40's last weekend.
This is one of the usual signs.
This is another. You can pick from a pile of them, or make your own. One guy does that.
Camp Casey style.
This is Mike. He was the local Dem Party's Membership Chairman when I first joined. He gets to the protest when he can.
This is how the protest always ends. Everyone who showed up gets his picture took, and Grandfather Peace (don't know his real name) makes copies and gives them to all the people who were there, plus some little wooden wallhanging things he makes up with political cartoons he liked on them, plus the occasional informative handout.
There are a couple of vets who are always there (Grandfather Peace is one), one nun, several college students, a mom or two, and sometimes me. A good week is about 15 people, but someone is ALWAYS there, no matter how cold, and even if it's Christmas.
Thought you guys might like to see.
