6. Too bad they're so mediocre
I don't have a very good impression of Kohls, but maybe I'll have to stop by just to piss off Rev. Wildmon.

28. They're good for stuff like dishes, pots and pans, towels
But their clothing is mediocre. I was impressed to see both plus-sized mannequins and a mannequin in a wheelchair diplaying clothes in their stores. It's a nice bit of inclusion for folks who often don't see themselves portrayed in clothing stores.

3. These religious freaks are in for the surprise of their lives
I'm guessing that if there's a god, he has no interest at all about December advertising gimmicks, and he may just ask these nutcases why they wasted their precious lives , making other people's lives difficult.. just before he boots their asses "downstairs".. :eofl:

15. It's an excellent store.

Every Wednesday, they give a discount to those over 55 and most of their sales clerks are in their 50s if not older.

I sent an email to Keith through the AFA. Keith responded. He is remarkably up on obscure 50's & 60's Saturday morning cartoons.

31. I used it to send a support
email to Kohl's. I love misusing their forms to do the opposite of what they want. I also included a semi lecture on using a religious holiday as an advertising gimmick in my thank you to Kohl's for not using it as an ad. Not sure if they read the emails before sending it off but figure if they do they get a lecture and if they don't I used their bandwidth to support Kohl's.

14. My reaction exactly - don't these people have more important things to worry about?
They want *advertisments* to use a *certain word* and that's a priority? WTH, has pearl clutching become the national passtime, that they're hanging about with nothing better to do, with foodbanks stretched to the limit?

29. It's about dominance. If they don't dominate, then they are persecuted
Edited on Fri Nov-30-07 02:12 PM by pstokely
If they can't force anyone to pray in public schools, they consider themselves to be persecuted.

How DARE they not invoke the Lord And Savior's Most Holy Name (TM) in the context of Christmas sales. Kohl's is persecuting us because of our religion!

I'm glad to see these nuts have the "Reason for the Season" all figured out. LOL

I have gotten some nice shirts and a great deal on OP sunglasses at Kohls. I will have to shop there more often.

21. O'Reilly followers are so annoying
It's not something I really care about, but it can create pockets of irritation here and there. For example, I stopped by Target last night to pick up a couple of things. Lo and behlod, there was a huge "Merry Christmas" banner hanging from the ceiling.

I just rolled my eyes. I don't care about the Merry Christmas thing at its core, but what bugs me is that Target capitulated to the worst in our society - namely those one-issue O'Reilly followers who don't have anything better to do than be offended.

WTF is wrong with these people?

"Why would Kohl's ban Christmas? The obvious answer is they don't want to offend non-Christians."

Um ... no. The OBVIOUS answer is that they want to INCLUDE non-Christians. As difficult as it may be for you to comprehend, Christians do not own the entire month of December. Other religions celebrate holidays in December as well. :eyes:

On edit:

Note to the AFA - Many people will be hungry and/or cold this Christmas. They won't be getting any presents. Other people are alone and have no one to celebrate with. Many children will not to get share Christmas with at least one of their parents because that parent is serving in Iraq. Some have parents who were killed in Iraq and they will never celebrate another Christmas with them again.

Now I ask you ... do you honestly believe that any of these people give a shit if the staff at a retail store says "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays?"

35. Christmas is still a Holiday, right?
Therefore, it falls under the heading of "Holidays." "Christmas" is exclusive. "Holidays" is inclusive, and includes Christmas. I've never really understood the beef here. It's really silly.

36. I guess all the hungry are fed
and naked are clothed, etc.

Perhaps we should all remind the AFA of their *true* mission as Christians:
Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'
"The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' Then he will say also to those on the left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you didn't give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you didn't take me in; naked, and you didn't clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn't visit me.'
"Then they will also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn't help you?'
"Then he will answer them, saying, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn't do it to one of the least of these, you didn't do it to me.' These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
Matthew 25:31-46

I didn't see anywhere here about browbeating a *commercial* enterprise into "spreading the word," as they somehow think this does. Why would you want Christ's name associated with the money changers anyway. I don't think God would even recognize the perversion some have turned Christianity into.

37. Makes me feel better about buying stuff there last weekend!
Plus, my daughter loves their "Kohl's Cares for Kids" $5 stuffed animals. She's probably accumulated a dozen of them these past few years. The $5 goes to charity, too.
