CNN's Cooper praised Huckabee's failure to answer WWJD question as "probably one of the best answers you could possibly come up to"

Summary: During post-debate discussion of the November 28 CNN/YouTube Republican debate, CNN's Anderson Cooper praised Mike Huckabee's response to the question, "The death penalty: What would Jesus do?" calling Huckabee's answer, "certainly, probably one of the best answers you could possibly come up to, to that question." However, Huckabee, who has repeatedly invoked Jesus Christ and Christianity to explain his position on matters of public policy, did not answer the question or Cooper's own follow-up.

1. How was that a good answer?
Unless Anderson considers it a trick question. Maybe he's not looking for real answers.

2. I thought it was a stupid dodge. He uses Jesus constantly as a policy guide, as
Media Matters points out, but when asked directly for his understanding of Jesus' teachings in this case, he makes a joke rather than say something politically unpopular. What an ass.

3. "Jesus wouldn't run for public office" isn't an answer, it's a dodge.
For a fundie, the answer to the question shouldn't be a matter of speculation. He just said no.

At best, Huckabee's making the case that an elected official should check his religion at the door to city hall (or Washington DC, as the case may be).

Pity he doesn't walk the talk the other 364 days a year.

4. Huckabee never gives a serious answer . I will admit he
is charming and likeable but Other than that wild eyed idea
of abolishing the IRS, what are his policy positions.

Barnes at Fox News describes him well. "Slick"

5. What Jesus would do..
is a direct conflict with
what Hucksterbee would do.

'what you do to the least of
my creatures, you do to me', Jesus.

Since he is a Baptist preacher, he
goes against the teachings of Jesus
and of God. It is Thou Shall Not Kill,
not Thou shall not kill except those
you deem deserving of death.
