Gallup: Republicans self report best mental health

http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2007/11/gallup_republicans_report_best.html

A Republican aide on Capitol Hill was nice enough to point reporters this morning to this poll report from Gallup's pollsters:

PRINCETON, NJ -- Republicans are significantly more likely than Democrats or independents to rate their mental health as excellent, according to data from the last four November Gallup Health and Healthcare polls. Fifty-eight percent of Republicans report having excellent mental health, compared to 43% of independents and 38% of Democrats. This relationship between party identification and reports of excellent mental health persists even within categories of income, age, gender, church attendance, and education.

Here's a graph that runs with the Gallup report:

3. Charles Manson Thinks His Mental Health Is Excellent Too
Nothing is as fundamentally flawed as a poll that relies on "self reports".

5. Those who have mental health problems likely don't know or won't admit
they do. I'm sure they perceive themselves to be quite stable and mentally healthy, just before they kill the wife and children and stick a gun in their mouths and pull the trigger... :eyes:

11. You don't think the Nazis would have reported the same levels of mental health in '39?
Edited on Fri Nov-30-07 12:28 PM by tom_paine
This is nothing but a further indicator that the Bushies and Nazis are deeply similar.

Both follow madmen and criminals and compulsive liars. Both unquestioningly believe and obey only Party Approved sources of informationa and dismiss all the rest.

And BOTH consider themselves the utter pinnacle of mental health.

Yeah, keep fucking telling me that it's :tinfoilhat: to compare the Bushies and Nazis.

Many of these Bushie Monsters would keep their personal vision of themselves as the perfect visions of morality and mental health, even as they acted as cogs in a murder machine 10X worse that Imperial Amerika today and directed at themselves.

Let me preemptively strike those who wish to personally attack me: I DO NOT consider myself anywhwere close to the perfect visions of morality and mental health, so shove your "you think you're better than me" up your ass! Gonna have to figure out some other way to slime me now.

14. To be happy about how things are going today, you'd have to be ignorant, stupid, or malicious.
So these results aren't particularly shocking.
