Card Discredits Rove: "Sometimes Rove’s “mouth gets ahead of his brain”
Card Rejects Rove’s Claim That Congress Pushed Bush To War: ‘His Mouth Gets Ahead Of His Brain’

Karl Rove asserted on the Charlie Rose show recently that it was Congress that pushed the Bush administration into war with Iraq. “The administration was opposed” to voting for a war resolution in the fall of 2002, Rove claimed. “It seemed it make things move too fast,” he argued.

As ThinkProgress documented, key leaders in both the House and the Senate — including then-Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) — were asking Bush in 2002 to delay the Iraq war vote. But as Daschle recalled, when he asked Bush to delay the vote, Bush “looked at Cheney and he looked at me, and there was a half-smile on his face. And he said: ‘We just have to do this now.’”

This morning, former White House chief of staff at the time, Andrew Card, appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe and completely discredited Rove’s argument:

SCARBOROUGH: We have to start with something that we all are talking about a couple of days ago where Karl Rove went on Charlie Rose and he blamed the Democrats for pushing him and the president into war. Is that how it worked?

CARD: No, that’s not the way it worked.

Card went on to explain that sometimes Rove’s “mouth gets ahead of his brain”:

SCARBOROUGH: Is that just Karl spinning beyond the White House? Spinning out of control?

CARD: Well, Karl is very smart. He’s — sometimes his brain gets ahead of his mouth. And sometimes his mouth gets ahead of his brain.

1. I find myself chuckling.
Card thinks that Rove's brain gets ahead of his mouth.

That's because no matter what the scenario, KKKarl is ALWAYS campaigning. He's like Bush's personal Ann Coulter--and he will most likely do the same for the Republican nominee this time around. He says something completely outrageous, and the media will go "SWARM SWARM SWARM!"

2. The transcript doesn't do Card's reaction justice
He almost chuckled...paused as if to search for a polite response...then simply said "Uhhh.....No." The he added on the "That's not the way it worked." It was priceless, except for that Card should be in jail, too. I still want to know what he REALLY said to George on the morning of "The Pet Goat."

3. "Rove’s “mouth gets ahead of his brain”"??!?
And this from Andy Card?

hold on, this is going to take a minute to digest....

Card, (who took his cues from Rove for years about what to say to who, how and when) is saying that Rove doesn't always think when he talks?

It's not possible. I think it more likely that Rove began to believe his BS (any guesses when?), and is just now sticking his head outside his self-manufactured bubble and is about to discover that no one believes him.

5. Sometimes Karl's compulsive lying is a little too obvious.
It happens when no one in the press calls him on his bullshit and he begins to get the idea that no matter what he says the media and the masses will swallow it.

6. Well, obvious if you have a brain
But fortunately for Mr. Rove, he's booked on show after show where the person he's talking to doesn't have the slightest clue that he's lying his pasty white ass off. Why didn't Charlie Rose, by most accounts a sentient human being who's been alive for at least the last 10 years, say something in follow up to Rove's obvious fabrication that it wasn't true? Instead, he plodded along through his list of prepared questions, totally oblivious to the screaming howlers that Rove was laying out.

8. I personally thought he should have
ended the interview right there by telling him that he would not be a conduit for his lies and fabrications. That's the problem with the media nowadays. When these clowns come on they should insist a certain level of reality based truthfulness. It's one thing to have a differing opinion or viewpoint but quite another to be spinning lies to try and confuse the feeble minded. That's the definition of pure propaganda.

these people are all pathological liars. EVer doubted that? Here's the proof.
