Biden will move to IMPEACH Bush if * goes after Iran
Presidential hopeful Delaware Sen. Joe Biden stated unequivocally that he will move to impeach President Bush if he bombs Iran without Congressional approval.

Biden spoke in front of a crowd of approximately 100 at a Seacoast Media Group forum Thursday, which focused on the Iraq War and foreign policy. When an audience member expressed fear of another war with Iran, he said he does not typically engage in threats, but had no qualms about issuing a direct warning to the oval office.

“The President has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran and if he does, as foreign relations committee chairman, I will move to impeach,” said Biden, which was followed by a raucous applause.

1. it will be too late then as any repub support we might have now would shift to lockstep
"support our Commander in Chief in time of WAR" and a lot of the Rahm Emmanuelle repig-lite "dems" would cross over as well.

on future actions while current unconstitutional actions go unaddressed. Impeachment begins in the House.

7. What will he do, join the House of Representatives?
The House impeaches, the Senate convicts, that's how it works.

Furthermore, if Congress is willing to use unconstitutional abuse
of office as a justification for impeachment, I'd say they have
had their justification for about five years now.

When Cheney told Pat Leahy "go fuck yourself" on the Senate floor,
he wasn't just giving his usual polite greeting. It was a summation
of the attitude of the Bush White House toward not only Congress, but
the country and the rest of the world as well.

Not that Cheneybush don't deserve it, but this hasn't occurred to
the good Senator and his congressional colleagues previously?

13. Don't shoot the messenger, just reporting
what I read.

I know the procedure, and I am sure Biden does too. :hi:

15. My shot wasn't aimed at the messenger, but I am mighty curious
Since I'm sure that Biden does indeed know the rules, I can't figure out how
someone can report such a thing. I'm not on your case, but your source
should have been more thorough (and/or clear). Censure--now that is something
the Senate can do, but impeachment is not something the Senate can do, and
I can't figure out an article reporting that Biden would move to impeach. He
must have said something other than that.

I can, for example, well imagine that Biden has declared he would vote to convict
and remove from office, should impeachment go through in the House. For that
matter, I would think that Biden would vote that way for crimes already committed.
I would be mightily disappointed to learn otherwise. I would hope he wouldn't
need the invasion of Iran to sway his decision. Cheneybush have committed more
than enough transgressions to justify impeachment, conviction, and removal from
office, whether or not we get the pleasure of seeing it actually happen.

My only regret is that Henry Hyde wouldn't have lived to see an impeachment
carried out for a legitimate reason, as opposed to the sham(e) he participated in.

9. oh boy..WW3 gets underway ..and thennnnnnnn and only then will Joe do his job?
Edited on Fri Nov-30-07 07:47 AM by flyarm
about that oath you took Joe..it was a serious oath..no joke..and you work for us Joe..we the people..and we want those who have broken our laws held accountable..enough of your bullshit excuses..and pandering.we know what bullshit you are playing out..and we don't like it.

See Joe most Americans believe in the rule of law.

We believe in our constitution.."our constitution" Joe.

Joe you have an obligation as does Nancy Pelosi to protect and defend the constitution and none of you are doing your job..and as far as i can see it..i think each and everyone of you that don't do your job..you need to be fired.

See Joe..i was a flight attendant most of my life...my job was to serve my customers..yes i know people called us glorified waitresses , but i excuse them because they are ignorant to our real job, of saving lives in an emergency...now Joe ..if i only did part of my job..i would have been fired..if i said to my employer..no i don't want to serve food and pour drinks and coffee..i only want to sit and wait for an emergency..i would surely have been fired.

or Joe if i served the food and an emergency occurred and i said screw the peopole..i can get out and i just left the passengers to their own will to evacuate..well surely, i am sure, i would have broken some law..and i know damn well i would be held accountable,,.

all jobs have responsibilities..many Americans go to work daily in this country and not only go to work..they put their lives at risk each and every day doing their job and the duty they took on...and have responsibility to do in their job.

My co-workers were examples of that Joe ..on 9/11..they died trying to save their passengers..they died doing their duty .

You, as a senator should do nothing less.

You are..or were an example of democracy..unless you impeach..you are then an example of failure of democracy.

Some here aren't bothered by that..but i am.

And i am one of your employers.

Do your job Joe ..enough of the bullshit..enough of the excuses..we have had entirely enough of that.

This administration has made fools of the entire nation..( and the world for that matter) they have broken our laws..and they laugh at all of us, because no one has held them even remotely responsible or accountable...

My co-workers are dead Joe..they have been used as the excuse of * and cheney for breaking our laws..there is no excuse Joe..one person breaking a law and killing innocent lives ..doesn't give the right for someone else breaking the law and killing innocent lives....it doesn't wash Joe..

enough..do your Job Joe..If congress writes letters of impeachment ..then in the senate... do your damn job..and impeach these criminals in our white house!

and stop the damn lame excuses.

I took an oath when I entered into the Navy years ago and I feel like I am still under that oath and that oath requires my working to impeach traitors

http://www.navy.com/about/before/meps/#oath

The Oath of EnlistmentI, ___________________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

all enemies, foreign and domestic

the white house involvement of the outing of Valerie Plame Wilson in itself is all it should take to start the impeachment hearing. Once impeachment hearings start it'll be quickly seen just how dangerous and evil these traitors are and there will be very few who will not want and demand impeachment. Just gotta get the ball rolling.

I haven't been on a commercial plane in 40 years so you probably never served me personally but I want to thank you and the people who did. Thank you, you calmed my fears in that first flight in that little plane going from okc to dallas. Oh I was trying to not show my fear but I guess my uneasiness gave me away so she came and set beside me for a moment and told me to look out the window and look you can see the farmer on his tractor you can see them people wave at each other on that country road down there. The fear just melted away and was gone. ;-)
