1. Do they actually sell newspapers?
I can't imagine why anyone would buy that rag, especially in NYC where they know this country's #1 enemy is BushCo.

4. Funny, but I thought our occupation of Iraq aids our enemies. But the
NY Post isn't gonna let things like facts get in the way.

5. the guy who said "I don't see a civil war"
just a few of the boilerplate spasms Ralphie is having. There's no point in cataloguing them further, you've heard all of it before. Ralph Peters is as crazy as a shithouse rat. This is the guy who said "I don't see a civil war" about Iraq, then decides Iraq is lost six months later...but if Congress wants to put an end to the war or prevent an escalation, they should be charged with treason. Peters can't make up his mind about Iraq because the man is truly jingo buttons all over. It's the old soldier in him: we're gonna lose, but by gum we are not gonna quit.

Anything smacking of backing down even if the cause is lost offends him, so much that he will volte-face on his own reasoning to resist it. The army is fond of telling soldiers "never quit". I grant that this has its applications, but bullheadedness in the face of overwhelming odds has little to do with the type of fortitude that a soldier should have to give that little extra even when his body says no more, in my opinion.

Ralph himself admitted Iraq is lost. I think most of us have realized it is time to come home and lick our wounds and figure out how not to let this happen again. But this vote has upset Peters so, he's ready to give Iraq another chance:
