Morning Joe Show hits new level of sheer stupidity...
All over Stephen King's comments on Jena Bush being waterboarded.

Not a single person on the show, nor the producers, had enough intelligence to realize that King was using satire to make a point. Stephen King does not want Jena waterboarded, you idiots.

His point was that Bush does not listen to or believe in the countless testimonies that waterboarding is torture - and since he will only give up his war-mongering ways when his dog and Laura say "no more war, George,"
maybe he might believe Jena if she said "it's torture, Daddy."

Instead, MSNBC, jumps with a headline that King wants Jena waterboarded. And every last commentator saying he went too far. What a bunch of idiots!

5. Well, considering what can happen to ya on THIS board if ya leave off
the sarcasm thingie, I'm not so sure that humorlessness and satire-blindness are unique to Republicans.

3. He did go too far.
Even if GWB is not listening, there´s no need for sarcasm when talking about torture methods.

4. Considering what W did when Jenna had her appendix out
My guess is he wouldn't give a shit if she were waterboarded or had bad consequences. Barney on the other hand may be a different story.

9. Went golfing
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 11:43 AM by rurallib
I don't have a link. It has been a while since last I read about this and I think it is correct.I believe it was late in his governorship. He was on a golfing trip or something. He was notified that Jenna was going in for an emergency appendectomy and he said "she's a big girl, she'll be ok." And he continued his vacation. Can't remember if he ever went to the hospital.
To me it showed how totally detached he is from any care for any other human. Were it my daughter I would be at the hospital as quickly as possible.

December 26, 2000: Jenna Bush's appendix almost burst on Christmas Day! After having it removed, her abdominal pains left. I saw this news item the day after Christmas. One insightful (insightful into the Bush family dynamics) quote from the article was:
# , joking that if she cannot join the rest of the family in Florida ``she can clean out her room.''

16. "Emergency appendectomy" is scary stuff
Can be life-threatening.

I had my appendix out earlier this year, but went in not too long after discovering symptoms (and I'm very stubborn about going to the doctor). Thankfully, I had it taken care of promptly and I was in no danger (though I was in a lot of pain).

Waiting too long to get an appendix treated can lead to a rupture, and that is really bad. It happened to Keith Olbermann recently.

18. What a total a**. That surgery isn't always easy and safe.
I had appendicitis for ten years (misdiagnosed because it acted like something else), and when I went into that exploratory lap, I was scared to death. What a jerk.

19. Well, he comes by that honestly. His parents went golfing...
the afternoon their daughter died.

Those people are from another planet.

Thanks for answering. I'd never heard that story.

24. I don't see the problem here. Republicans don't believe that...
waterboarding is torture, so what's the problem. Oh, that....it's just the distraction of the day for DAS GOP. Don't want people looking at disaster the GOP has made.

Dead Intern Joe.
