2. That was awful
Eeesh.

Compare to the vaunted stories of Jeter telling Bush "You better not bounce it" when he threw out that pitch after 9/11, and the sheer dedication Bush put into that ceremony. In this case, Bush could've spent 10 minutes learning to pronounce the names of these guys, but didn't even do that. Studying the stage blocking and moving from the podium was obviously well beyond his preparation capacities.

Yes, truly embarrassing.

6. Did anyone notice this?
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 08:52 AM by DFW
In the photo op, Bush tried to spread his arms to recreate the scene where Bill Clinton
spread his arms while Rabin and Arafat shook hands.

Like any scene done with 3rd rate actors and no director, it failed.

CUT!

Card, too. At least on names. The new guys assume too much. Because they are used to dealing with normal people.

9. I have to disagree. He has mangled names, words and the English language for years. Even
if Rove and Card were still on duty, I am sure he still would have screwed up.

14. Yes, lots of mangling - not so much on names of people, though -
mostly when he improvised and from the arrogance of believing he's great. I believe in my own theories, they had to constantly prop him up by telling him how great he is and how great he will be in history at the same time they had to teach him pronunciation. I believe every time he dragged out a word, pronouncing all the syllables, it resulted from a problem word in rehearsal - I think in doing it he is joking with his coaches - saying to them - see I can say this word. His impromptus have been a disaster at times. But, I don't remember him messing up names this badly. So I distinguish between names and sentences/paragraphs/off the cuff.

17. He seems to have lost his confidence now though..
most of the cockiness and self-assuredness that he used to display in these situations, and mostly got him through it, is gone.

his indifference now.

13. The New "Gold Standard"
In future years, we'll look back at this regime at its awful manchild and use it as an example of what happens when Repugnicans are given power. Once this shitstain is removed from the Oval Office, so will the "mystique" or whatever aura remains that the corporate media is under that attempts to portray him as anything more than the selfish baffoon most of us have always known him to be. Gone also will be a lot of his remaining supporters as he no longer serves a value or purpose and the clouds will lift from them about this assclown's total ignorance. Dan Quayle will look like Churchill.

Or at least re-fit him with his wire transmitter! His handlers should know better by now!

22. I don't think they coud have fit him with his receiver because he was going to be
physically touching Olmert and Abbas. We also know full well how he can't understand many of the words that are fed to him and he mangles that too. Phonetically might work for a normal person but we all know he isn't normal.

21. His body language is incredible, and I don't even know how to read BL..
He must be slightly (or, exceedingly) ahead, at all times, and look at how he approaches the podium and leaves the guests to find their own places. He gives the impression he has more important things to do and places to go...like the bathroom.

Aside from bungling the names, he reaches in front of the guests, must be instructed by them on where to stand and then pushes their hands around like a little tyke who has to have things his way...No! My hands go here and your hands...

Thanks for the laughs. I know it's pathetic and I should be ashamed, but I can't keep the guffaws back. He's a clown...no, he's an ass...no, he's an idjit! Thank God I didn't vote for him!
