I already know the answer to my own question (most don't mind using them recklessly for private gain) but it has to be asked.

1. I have to wonder why they can't just say the war is wrong in SOME way.

And base their resistence to it on moral grounds...Otherwise we get in this stupid thing where the Dems have to flip flop if the surge appears to be working or something, like the reason we are against the war is because we don't think we'll win, rather than it being wrong in the first place.

2. Don't ask why...You know why

Because Democrats are so worried about being called "Sissies who aren't tough enough to defend America."

When Democrats stop being like that, they'll find the courage to say "We support our troop so much that we want the home alive in one piece"
