I think Robertson hurt himself by endorsing Rudy

I work with several fundamentalist Christians and I asked them what they thought about Robertson endorsing a guy who is pro-choice. They were furious about it and had lost all respect for Robertson. Their allegiance has gone to Dobson.

From what I have heard the Religious Right has splintered into several groups this year with many of them coming over to our side now following liberal Christian leaders.

I don't think the Religious Right will be as dangerous this time around as they are not unified.

Just because he says the way to cure a boy of homosexual leanings is for his father to take a shower with him so the boy can see how large his father's penis is? Sounds pretty sensible to me. :rofl:

(You probably already knew about that one, but just to be sure, Dobson actually wrote that in one of his child-rearing books. Being pro-choice is a no-no but exposing yourself to them is ideal parenting.)

I am watching to see what will happen when they discover they have been used in the name of the lord. How can you justify begging for hard earned money based on your commitment to certain laws found in the bible and then endorse someone who does not or has not even come close to supporting those laws? Well maybe just this once? Nah, once people have been riled up with hate for certain people or certain policies or procedures and they have been given what they think are credible reasons they are not so easily changed, or are they? I am really interested to see what happens. This should doom our particular evangelical leaders for a good long while. New crop will be coming right up.

I will never understand these people. I tried and I tried to become one of them (not the real nutcases but just the regular religious folk) but I never could. I can see where it would be comforting but the rest of it just left me cold.

8. You are right they may not be as dangerous this time but

we as Democratic members and others must NEVER underestimate these nuts. Blackwater is a perfect example of an Uber Neocon who has emassed too much power...and whose CEO is seriously...I think a terrorist withen our own borders.

Now that these groups are splintered it is time for the US to start taxing these Churches..... They reel millions even billions in...they use our infrastructure, roads, police electricity yet they do not pay into maintaining the infrastructure.
