Gun Nut News - Holiday Edition: Bullet meant for dog kills owner.
WADESVILLE, Ind. -- Police said a southeastern Indiana woman chasing her dog was fatally shot by a neighbor after the dog ran through the neighbor's property.

Nicole Stroud, 29, of Wadesville was pronounced dead Thursday at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Stroud in the backyard, surrounded by onlookers as volunteer firefighters performed CPR.

Officers arrested Linda Lindauer on preliminary charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide in Stroud's death.

Police said Lindauer apparently was trying to shoot the dog. Instead, the bullet struck Stroud, who was visiting her grandmother's home for the day.

3. The shooter was arrested?!
Boy, talk about your :wtf: moments!

I mean, arrested for WHAT? Isn't the obvious solution to a dog running at large to get out the Glock? This poor woman is a martyr! A martyr I tell you! To the Second Amendment. Those gun-grabbers in liberal Indiana will rue they day they fuck with a gun-owning law-abiding citizen, by the Christ.

5. What a vile thing to do... Her defense, she meant to shoot the dog?
Yeah, I want to be on that jury....

How very tragic.

6. There are some people who just should not own firearms
And how do we sort them out? If you have an ugly screw face you cannot buy a gun? If you complain about the neighbors' kids you cannot buy a gun. This is horrible.

11. Take away the "screw-loose" segment and there's not much NRA left.

17. Well, the Second Amendment does say "well-regulated"
And I submit that should mean two weeks' annual away-from-home instruction in the proper handling, storage and care of a firearm. For each firearm a person wishes to own. Every year. No exceptions. And any gun owner who can't show a certificate for each firearm on demand loses that firearm. And any firearm used in the commission of a crime must have a current certificate, or it becomes an aggravating factor for the crime.

I think that would all pass constitutional muster under the Second Amendment for "well-regulated."

12. As is the continued portrayal of gun ownership as somehow a "freeper issue."

:eyes:

Around one in four Dems nationwide personally owns a gun, and there are slightly more Dem and indie gun owners than there are repub gun owners.

9. Guns don't kill people. Murderous assholes with poor judgement carrying guns kill people.
I've always found great comfort in that sentiment.

13. No no no...
...you've got it all wrong. Guns don't kill people, it's the bullets, silly! Or, if you want to get technical, it's the holes left by the bullets.

14. That's what happens when you let women have guns.
Sorry, I just wanted to get in a good, sensible argument like some of the others I'm reading here.

15. Idiot - dogs get loose sometimes
And they go on to someone else's property and an owner has to chase them down and catch them. The only excuse I would give someone to shoot at a dog is if it was attacking someone or in some cases another animal. If it's threating you and you got somewhere safe to hide then call the cops to take care of it.

I have a shepherd huskie mix who will take off running if she gets a chance. There have been several times in the 10 years I've had to chase her in to neighbor's yards to catch her. I'm glad I didn't have idiot neighbors who shot me.
