Letter says cop's wife sighted
Atty: Letter says cop's wife sighted
By CARLA K. JOHNSON

A former police sergeant named as a suspect in his wife's disappearance has received an unsigned letter describing a supermarket sighting of his wife elsewhere in Illinois, his attorney said Thursday.

Drew Peterson received the letter Wednesday but didn't open it until Thursday, attorney Joel Brodsky said. Peterson immediately called the Illinois State Police and his attorneys, he said.

Brodsky said Peterson hopes the letter, which describes a sighting of a possibly pregnant Stacy Peterson in Peoria, will lead authorities to his wife.

Pamela Bosco, a close friend of Stacy Peterson's family, scoffed at the idea. She said the family has received "tons of letters," signed and unsigned, from psychics and others claiming to know the missing woman's whereabouts.

Dobrich also told the newspaper that detectives have found evidence Peterson may have violated Bolingbrook Police Department policies, violations that could be serious enough to jeopardize his $6,000 monthly pension.

A $6000 monthly pension?? Wow. How much do police sergeants make?

1. I don't know what's going on; lots of fishy stuff if you ask me. Today
a neighbor confirmed he saw the husband and someone else manhandling a barrel or something similar out of the house and into a car? If that's so, what took this person so long to come forward? It's not adding up, any of it.

2. I want to know about that pension
Good grief. I thought cops were paid poorly like teachers.

4. Maybe it has something to do with a disability? Even then, it
seems excessive. I dunno.

3. Uhh, an unsigned letter?
Who does that? Most folks have cell phones and would've probably called in the sighting instantly. Or at least have notified someone then.

6. That depends.
What if it was Elvis? There is no evidence The King is big on cell phone technology. Should we expect him to blow his cover? Because the truth is that if this letter is real, then it is most likely Elvis who wrote it.

5. The 1st red flag
on this is that the letter was mailed
to him, while he is a suspect, instead
of to the authorities. The 2nd is that
he let it lay there a day before opening
it. No details but, since it was unsigned
I would also guess that it did not have a
return address either. Being a police officer,
he should know that if she is missing, every
phone call to the home and every piece of mail
are to be thoroughly scrutinized immediately.

$6000 a month pension?!?! Our police sergeant
doesn't hardly make that in a year working.

7. Was she with Elvis?
I have not been following this case. What is his story? That his wife ran off?

10. Yes he says she ran off
but now they think he killed his last wife.

And I want to know how he got a $6000 a month pension!
