GM to buy Chrysler?
Kind of like a guy who got his house repossessed checking into buying his neighbor's burning house.

If this "sale" goes though, I cannot even imagine the anger of those laid off workers from both companies

1. The Chrysler brand has inherent value in the marketplace....
so this idea is not out of the question nor unusual. Is it better to just let the Chrysler name die? Sure, getting laid off sucks but if it means the survival of a company that employs tens of thousands, it isnt a bad thing.

2. As far as I know
GM doesn't have anyone on lay off status. GM still has a jobs bank in effect.
