Citing 'Outsider' Status, Huckabee Becomes First Candidate To Respond to McClellan Book

November 20, 2007 05:24 PM

This evening on Hardball, Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee became the first presidential candidate to make a public statement on former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's admission that he had "passed along false information" intended to "exonerate" Karl Rove and Scooter Libby in l'affaire Plame.

Huckabee: "It's stunning. It's one of those moments where I'm glad to not be a Washington insider...they are serious allegations but we don't know whether they're true...they deserve to be thoroughly investigated and the truth brought to the American people."

Of course, Huckabee's response was something of a fait accompli, seeing as how the prior discussion on Hardball centered on how Huckabee could use the McClellan announcement to highlight the fact that he wasn't a "Washington insider."

1. Would he be saying that if it were a Democratic administration?
"but we don't know whether they're true..."
The source worked in the White House at the time and was part of the cover up for gods sake.

4. Reason he said that is because he knows Republicans are LIARS
Why should We assume anything a Republican says, especailly one from this Administration, has one shred of truth to it?

5. "we don't know whether they're true"
Oh please...:eyes:

Fitz tried to get to the truth and got the equivalent of sand thrown in his face. Any ideas, Huckabee, for how to go about getting to the truth with these thugs? Tasering? Water boarding? How 'bout we strip the Fab Five naked and stack them in a pyramid on the WH lawn 'til one of 'em talks?
