*Daily dose of dumbass*-Bush and airline congestion(LOL)
Edited on Wed Nov-21-07 08:40 AM by underpants
Be prepared to feel the power of THE George W. Bush as sometime today-not yet mind you but sometime today-HE will free up military airspace for the commercial airlines.

I heard this a few days ago and heard it again this morning when the CNN reporter Cho (the same one who told us that if we wanted the cheapest gas we should go to Tucson) said from the FAA "command center" that Bush would wave his hand and make all of our commutes so wonderingly pleasant. She followed this with (swear to god) saying that one FAA official told her how GREAT this was and then said that he wished it had happened sooner since most people will already be at their destination or on their way when this special bit of magic happens. As usual W is a day late and a dollar short.

There aren't going to be anymore airplanes IN the air
There aren't going to be any new routes
There aren't going to be any new approaches or landings to the FIXED runways

Oh and the original claim, made by W himself, that he was going to allow for technology to be used to increase seating efficiency not only begs the question of "Why wouldn't you already do that?" but is so asinine that THAT isn't even mentioned anymore.

Now this video is one of the funniest things you will ever see
Fox News didn't screen this "expert" very well as he states that W is "reading from a crib sheet" and calls the whole thing "embarrassing"
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/11/17/fox-friends-cheerleads-for-bush-and-aviation-but-gets-punked/

The Fox host Steve Douchebag adds to the fun but CLEARLY not listening to what the guy is saying adding in some "That's great!"s when the guy is blowing the whole thing out of the water . Enjoy.

4. I saw a segment yesterday (I think on GMA) where the correspondent
was blaming delays on how people pack. She got some young boy to give up his suitcase and she proceeded to rifle through it, showing us how messy everything was. Then she had a sample suitcase of everything folded neatly, stuff in zip-loc bags, etc. to show us how we should be doing it. Good tips, sure, but I don't think a few messy packers are the reason airline travel sucks.

I wonder how the kid answered when they asked him if anyone could have put something in his bag?

5. Well of course its our fault
or as the video actually points out most of the congestion results from the heavy traffic in NYC. The expert also states that 1/1000th of 1 percent get involuntarily bumped "Basically no one"

8. One report actually blamed "new travelers" as the reason things will
slow down. The unsophisticated who don't fly will ruin us all. It was good for a laugh.

10. I think I saw a bit of that
they wer VERY CLEAR about how all you electronics should be laid out on one level of your suitcase (with video). It looked like it was a military load plan.....ah there we go if we all were just uniform those airlines could more easily ...um...make us wait :eyes:

6. I'm pretty sure dumb ass is in a drunken stupor right now at Camp David..
and therefore knows nothing about what's going on at the airports or in the skies.

"Reading from a crib sheet" "didn't know what he was talking about" "really embarassing"...

The only comment that tool Doocy makes is some stupid crap about the guy not going to the White House Christmas party, making a joke out of the whole thing while the Barbie doll next to him laughs. The joke's on you Doocy...:dunce:

11. I swear that I overheard on the news this morning that freeing up military airspace
During the holidays has been done in the past and is nothing new.

If that is the case.... Then what the hell is Bush doing that is so unprecedented?

12. LOL that wouldn't surprise me either
Nothing. He hasn't done anything. Molly Ivins had an article a few years ago about all the things that Bush had trumpeted in speeches WHILE proposing to cut funding for them at the same time.

They don't know what they are doing and I really do think that they drink so much to forget that they just slap it all together on a daily basis with no regard for past "policy" or even the spin on it.

13. "command center" - There really is one...
And it's very important to flight control.

Oh, what * said? It's bull. The bottlenecks are the airports and lack of resiliency by the airlines when a particular flight is delayed.

14. The lights cut out on the CNN reporter
she didn't know to make an obvious joke about it, she seemed very unnerved that she couldn't read her script. Lights back on, continue reading.
