Ex-Congressman Plans Book On Why U.S. Invaded Iraq
An early Fitzmas present to Chimp and Company.

"EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- A former Indiana congressman known for his maverick stances -- including his willingness to buck fellow Republicans over the Iraq war -- is writing a book that promises to reveal the hidden political moves that led to the Iraq invasion.

On a Web site created to promote the book, John Hostettler says his book titled "Nothing for the Nation: Who Got What Out of Iraq" will reveal "why political leaders and their subordinates sought to remove Saddam Hussein from power."

Hostettler was among six House Republicans to vote against the Iraq war and cautioned as early as an October 2003 speech on the House floor that the problems associated with rushing to war would be many.

"War should be waged by necessity, and I do not believe that such necessity is at hand at this time," Hostettler, who was defeated last year in his bid for a seventh term, said in the speech posted alongside the advertisement..."

3. It's not possible to have the slightest confidence in any election result in the country, SO
even tho you say that "Hostettler . . . was defeated last year in his bid for a seventh term," how do you know he lost the election?

The voting machines evidently printed out that result, but it's by no means certain that the voting machine print-out had any connection to the votes actually cast. How does anybody know?
