So are all the nay-sayers who will no doubt give you a laundry list of ho-hum excuses as to why there should be no impeachment... all dumbass bogus reasons, of course.

Torture, rape, murder, the most blatant corruption in American history, and over 90% of the Republican politicos are still in lock-step behind the war and the rest of Bush's policies. What do you think it's going to take to get them to break with him? They haven't even been willing to do it to save their own necks.

28. Do you consider MLK a "straw man?" He said, “Our lives begin to end..."
"...the day we become silent about things that matter.”

and

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

and

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

and

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.”

and

"A time comes when silence is betrayal."

Apparently there is broad bipartisan (backdoor) support to go against Bush, the only thing holding the Republicans back is fear. Perhaps it takes a scandal or further revelations to overcome that fear.

29. I think even repukes can figure out that their offices will be in bigger
jeopardy than they are now if they don't side with impeachment......maybe they'll do it themselves! It would be a smart politcal move for themselves and make the Dems look weaker than they already do.
Wasn't it the republicans who brought up impeachment in the Watergate times that forced Nixon to resign?????

38. That is something I
have thought about, if only the Dem's would put the effort into laying out a solid case for impeachment. At some point enough of the RePukes might realize that in the interest of covering their own asses or improving their reelection chances they should either join the impeachment crowd or initiate it themselves.

I have been making this point constantly to people here but no one seems to listen.

Force Republican legislators to choose between backing an extremely unpopular president or getting reelected. This is really a great boon to any challengers looking to take the seats of incumbant republicans.

untouchable. Grouse all you like, she will be reelected guaranteed. You can't replace a Democratic incumbent, unless you are willing to vote republican. Didn't think so. Nancy doesn't care what you think, haven't you figured that out yet? If not keep writing her emails. My guess is that they go directly into the shredder.

40. Agree the Dems are in for a shock. In 2006 there was a lot of enthusiasm
And we got a lot of (forgive the expression) low hanging fruit, meaning lots of repukes that were caught with their pants down in public bathrooms made it easy to defeat them. But the grassroots are disappointed with the lack of backbone of their representatives. They wanted action and have seen posturing. All the easy target repukes are gone for 2008 plus the grassroots are disenchanted.
