1. If the teacher has the credentials to home school
there is nothing wrong with it.. My daughter in law has the degrees and she home schooled and is still home schooling the youngest. They are above average in grades. The state of Minnesota has them tested I think quarterly or so and they do very well. Sometimes scoring three grades about the one they are studying at. I think it is because a home schooled child gets more attention. They don't have to compete with 30 other students and the confusion in the class room. To counteract the interaction with other children my son and daughter in law have them enrolled in music classes, drama classes and other activities in the town that put them in with children their own age. I don't think I would have the discipline to be a home school teacher, but as I said it mostly benefits the education of the children.

2. Elizabeth explains in detail how she and John support public schools but this campaign...
... has put them in position of using a certified teacher as a tutor, and that without disrupting a public school classroom and schedule they are homeschooling AND allowing their children to spend time with them while John is campaigning.

I have to admit, I never thought about all the logistical problems they faced --but it is clear from the article that she and John thought through the process and made the decisions based on what is best for their children.

She is clear that after the campaigns are over they intend to put their kids back in public school full time. And in the interim they are staying in touch with their public school teachers and classmates, and engaging in activities with them.

She also addresses how her treatment played into the decisions they made --and actually provided her with more time to spend with her kids.
