Mark Twain's unpublished anti-War short story: The War Prayer

When Mark Twain died, they found this unpublished short story among his papers, apparently rejected by his publisher:

There was a 14 minute illustrated movie made of it and released in 2007, narrated by Peter Coyote:

If you hadn't ever heard of it, I thought you might like to read it.

1. Twain was also a very outspoken critic of imperialism and social injustice at this time
Read "To a Person Sitting in Darkness" "The United States of Lyncherdom" as well.

2. It wasn't 'discovered'...Mark requested...
Actually you will find that and MUCH more in the book 'A Pen Warmed Up in Hell' by MArk Twain. It was published(idf memory serves in the late 50's or maybe 1961. Twain had requested that several of his works NOT be published until after his death. The family retained a noted editor who went through all Twains' papers and we got the previous mentioned book as well as my all-time favorite Twain collection 'Letters from the Earth'

These are all readily available new and used in paperback and I absolutely recommend them, in fact hey would be GREAT christmas presents for anyone reading age and up. REALLY they are his greatest works, hands down!

Other than that I am relatively neutral on the subject. heheh

3. His family urged him not to have it published
and one account says his publisher rejected it as too controversial . . .

Whatever, everyone should read it.
