About Bush and Iraq: Feint praise defined
Edited on Sun Nov-18-07 11:45 PM by LuckyTheDog
Great news! Bush's failure in Iraq might not be total failure! :silly:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071117/pl_nm/iraq_usa_bush_dc

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With an intensifying White House race drawing attention to his legacy, President George W. Bush could leave office without the baggage of complete failure in Iraq thanks to new U.S. military gains, some analysts say.

American success at quelling sectarian and insurgent violence has raised hopes that the relatively calmer conditions of the past few months in Iraq might last into early 2009, when the next U.S. president takes over.

1. Flattering with contempt - another way of putting this. Wait for that bar to be raised

sky high should a Democrat get the office in 2008.
Someone should remind the Reuters people that before * stuck his nose in Iraq's business there was sectarian violence.

5. This is total BS
The surge is not "working", violence is down because the partitioning has been accomplished. There are not many Sunnis left in Shia neighborhoods, nor Shia left in Sunni neighborhoods to be killed. The Kurds have their own problems with Turkey, The foreign fighters are largely gone to Pakistan again. Joe Biden was right all along.
