Can Judi Giuliani Help Soften Rudy's Image?

Politics and Judi Giuliani have not always gone well together.

In recent months, as her husband's presidential campaign heated up, Giuliani was pilloried in the New York press as a social climber. A Vanity Fair profile accused her of demanding a separate seat on planes for her Louis Vuitton handbag. The former mayor's campaign started pulling her back from public events.

But as she proved yesterday during a women's fundraiser downtown, Judi Giuliani -- or "Mrs. G," as she called herself -- is most emphatically back.

Judi Giuliani, 52, looks far better in person than she does in print -- both literally and metaphorically. It is hard to square her personal presence, which is intensely -- almost fiercely -- amiable, with her reputation for imperiousness. (Did she get a bad rap? Are these traits two sides of the same coin? )

With her broad smile and a flair for the dramatic, she gabs to reporters about her "energizer bunny" husband and their upcoming trip to Miami for a NASCAR race ("We get to go down in the pit!" she says, sounding thrilled). And how every year on Thanksgiving, she and her husband host a breakfast at ESPN Zone in New York for police officers and firefighters affected by the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001. The reason she started pulling back from public events, was because reporters and people that have known her along her path to become the next Jackie O began talking.

I was 1st notified about the reporters from a republic. And a very wealthy republic, at that. There are people that are using their wealth to get the truth out about Judi Stish Ross Nathan Giuliani.

I met Judi when she was still married to Jeffrey Ross and f'ing my friend, Bruce Nathan.

She would not allow anyone in my large group of friends to speak w/Bruce w/o her being there. She alienated all of his friends, including my friend, Billy. Billy and Bruce went to the same elementary school through high school. Their families vacationed together.

Before everyone caught onto what she was, she tried to pit friend against friend and boyfriend against girlfriend through lies for no other reason than because she liked to hurt.

It's her M.O.

She has left a path of destruction in her wake on her journey to be the next Jackie O.

After a twenty nine year silence, Billy and Bruce finally spoke w/each other over the phone about two months ago.

at a Susan G Komen Race for the Cure breast cancer awareness event in New Hampshire. It appears Nancy Brinker, head of Komen and Bush appointee in the State Department, set up the event to showcase Judi and align her with the breast cancer issue.

But Elizabeth Kucinich attended and talked about her husband's plan for single payer health care - which won a standing ovation from the women in attendance.

Judi was upset and left early. Its going to be easy to turn her into a liability for Rudy.
