:toast::bounce::party::beer::thumbsup:

He should win the primaries if we keep very careful watch of the elections and insist on recounts where things don't look right.

8. Due to a "skittish" trackball,
my vote went to Mike Gravel instead of Dennis Kucinich. (could have done worse!)

No, my trackball is NOT made by Diebold, but it makes me wonder! Has Diebold bought out Logitech? Hmmmm?

9. Dennis overcame numerous "power-up" setbacks to take the race. I was also
glad to see Al Gore do well. He entered the fun run late, and was the beneficiary of an important "power-up" but his votes came in strong all the way through.

A couple of highlights that IMHO speak well for DU donors:

Both Al and Dennis opposed the IWR

Both Al and Dennis have endorsed single payer heath insurance

These are issues that are close to DUers' hearts, and heads and the fun run demonstrated that.

14. And will someone question the "accuracy" of this poll?...
That's what some did when a poll was posted a few months back, asking if DUers owned firearms. The result (after posting in general discussion for several days) was 51% yes, 49% no (with many of the latter saying in effect: "no, but I'm thinking of it.") Goes to show that while many liberals may not like guns (or Kucinich), "lefties" seem to like both.

Apparently the increase in Biden supporters here at DU did not translate into an increase in donations.

22. That's a lot of bunk.
There are a lot of DUers that didn't care much for this fun run. I was given the usual steps for a monthly donor and didn't use them.

46. you see, Hillary makes the top 5. Scoring into the double digits
of course, obama, edwards, and dennis, all perceived to be to the Left of Hillary, did get a total of 63% fo the vote.... but don't let that discourage anyone.
think of all the republicans that vote in the general election!
and think of all the money Hillary is getting. ain't that what counts?

37. Of course this does not represent typical voters
It does, however, represent people who give a shit and are paying attention--the types that are likely to volunteer to doorbell, phonebank and do data entry in the general election.

But its not terribly likely when places like DU collect money that should have gone directly to;

http://www.dennis4president.com/home/

But of course we know that DU isn't going to give a dime of that to Dennis, now, don't we?

Last time, our esteemed proprietor here gave ONLY $750 to Kerry. And this time out not a dime to anybody.

Not what you'd expect out of one of the self-styled "Leaders" of our cause, is it?

50. Maybe because it takes money to run the website?
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 03:53 PM by IAmJacksSmirkingReve
It's laughable that you think this website is some kind of DLC front, but I'll let that go because you're new.

Maybe you should do a little digging and figure out how much our "leaders" here make before you castigate them for "only" donating $750 to Kerry. Hint: it's not a lot.

Why don't you tell us how much you've given to Kucinich this year and in 2004?

47. Proves DU is outside of the mainstream.
This is what happens when a small minority crowds the system at one time. A radio host used to call it the 'race car effect'-- she didn't want to waste time talking about auto racing because not a lot of people across the country are into it. It's a regional cult following. (It gets on TV because there's so much advertising on the cars, not because it gets higher ratings than other sports. Advertisers like it because you don't have to watch it as long in order to see lots of ads.) If she spent time talking about it, that fraction of the audience would call in more, making it look like a lot of people supported it, and distorting the picture. Meanwhile, the majority of the audience would have nothing to do.

There have been a lot of his fans posting here lately, and frankly, they don't seem to be nice people. Very catty about other candidates. What they haven't worked on is making sure their candidate gets a lot of contact with other parts of the country and gets used to asking for their cooperation, not just assuming he can go over their heads.

52. Doorbellers, phonebankers and other worker bees usually are out of the mainstream
The mainstream doesn't give a shit about electoral politics until a few weeks before an election. People who care about issues are those willing to do the dirty work, and those folks have the same values as Kucinich.
