many christmas carols on the radio station this afternoon as we went out for a ride around town.
they are starting early ... and for a change, they sound really good. i mean, they are the same old christmas carols ... but with all the bush crimes around, with all the repression he is slowly installing, with a constant shower of no good news, propaganda and bush spin ... these carols are refreshing and a balm for my soul, at least.

3. they've started early, haven't they?
it seems to be a switch from the last few years when hardly a carol would play at stores or radio stations, not to mention the total un-caroling of christmas on the television sets.

i wonder what is making the switch.

2. Greedy bastards
Friday, I popped into one of the corporate books shops (to look for titles to get from the library - small booksellers are the only ones who get my money) and they were playing that crap. The middle of November. And a Salvation Army bell ringer was in front of the grocery store last week.

8. I'm nearly done with my decorating.
If I'm going to work that hard to get the decorations up, I figure I might as well enjoy them a bit longer. The tree went up yesterday, as did most of the decorations in the rest of the house. The outside was done a week or so ago. It gave us something nice to think about, compared to having Bush invade my thoughts 24/7. With the price of oil hitting the roof, it may be the final Christmas I can decorate like I wish.

Guess what I want for Christmas? Ho, ho, ho!

9. Before kids, we put up the tree the Saturday after T-giving
but since my daughter was born early Dec, we wait until after her b-day. I know what you mean about enjoying them, all that hard work and then it seems like it's time to take them down. :D
