SPRINGFIELD - The man known to many as "Klutzo the Clown" died hours after guards use a taser on him.

57-year-old Amon Paul Carlock was facing multiple child porn charges after prosecutors say he took naked pictures of kids.

Deputies aren't sure if the taser caused his death, but they are investigating. It all started early Friday morning when Carlock refused to leave his cell to get checked out for a medical condition.

Carlock was booked in the Sangamon County Jail last month after being arrested on sex tourism charges. Police say he took naked pictures of boys while on a trip to the Phillipines. snip

Prosecutors say with Carlock's death that ends their investigation into the child porn charges. At one time Carlock worked as a minister, a daycare worker and for the state alongside children.

17. LOL - Life imitates art once again

Twenty some years ago my kid and some of his buds got in trouble in high school for putting on a Senior day skit about "Pervo the Clown" who got busted for molesting little kids at a party and later tripped over his big giant shoes in the jail and died. I remember the vice principal called us up to inform us about his behavior and I could hardly keep a straight face. I had a hard time pretending to be concerned about it, since all I wanted to do was laugh. I still laugh thinkin about it this many years later.

Thanks for support during identity crisis

As most know, I discovered a man from Springfield was arrested by federal authorities on child pornography and sexual charges. He was a clown and entertainer who went by a clown name I have used for the past 24 years, Klutzo.

Since I was the only one that I know of to have a Web site by that name, there were bloggers using the Internet that did not do their homework and investigate properly as to the true identity of my clown Klutzo.

They actually copied my Web site and pictures, and then placed them on their blog Web sites.

I was greeted by vile e-mail and blog sites accusing my Klutzo of unspeakable acts toward children. Devastated and humiliated, I immediately took my site off the Web.

By then the damage was done. It was a living nightmare. I was afraid of the damage it could do to not only my reputation but also to this great village.

Thanks to news articles by our local papers, the story was picked up by the local TV networks and nationally by CNN.

Unfortunately there are people there who would be happy to hire a profesedly christian clown.

He is not the first to die of a taser in Spfld. IIRC, A few years back (2002?) a mentally ill man died in custody sfter he quit breathing following a tasering and restraint. I wouldn't be surprised if there have been others.
