SUGGESTION NEW FORUM: Cars
With gas prices heading towards $4.00 a gallon and with all the environmental concerns involving them I'd suggest a car forum.

7. The fact is that most of us have no choice but to drive...
Edited on Sat Nov-17-07 09:23 PM by hlthe2b
I've spent considerable time trying to find a way to marry bicycling or walking with mass transit (bus, unfortunately). But, there is no direct way for me. Not even a reasonable indirect route. A 20 minute drive becomes 2 hours each way, given the number of bus transfers I'd have to do. And, while I relish the thought of being able to cycle 18 miles each way, Colorado weather does not lend well to that. (Besides the before-mentioned fact that there is no direct way to get there, as the main thoroughfare is auto-only and all indirect routes take one back to the 1.5 to 2 hour turnaround time).

If it is any consolation, I only drive the 36 miles round trip 5 days/week. On the weekend and after work each day, I walk everywhere, making me quite the hero to my girlie dog who accompanies me.

2. ELECTRIC Cars
How about styling the forum somehow, so the focus is on hybrids, plug-ins and other electric car solutions. I mean -- it's only been about SEVENTY YEARS that we've figured out electric cars. And yet there are no electric cars. Hmmmmm.

8. Tesla Motors is now taking reservations for the 2009's. I hope that means
the current crop will be out on the street soon...

5. Yes.... Green Vehicles, whether hybrid, electric or alternative fuel
I was just thinking this today... But not a wide open "Cars" forum, please... I really don't want to hear about the latest in gas guzzler muscle cars or behemoth SUVs.
