This is a little off topic from the normal BuzzFlash coverage of political stuff, but after seeing this headline on BuzzFlash:

Those antimicrobial soaps may be doing more harm than good since bacteria just becomes tougher; Some experts say risks outweigh benefits 11/1

I thought I might point out the fact that many toothpastes and other household products now have the same antimicrobial agent in them that is in these soaps. The agent is triclosan. So, read the ingredient list on the package to be sure.

Triclosan reacts with the chlorine in water to form chloroform (although amounts produced are reported to be lower than the levels of chloroform often present in ordinary tap water) and is converted to dioxin via reaction to ultraviolet sunlight.

As a consumer, no one has a better motivation to look out for your best interests than you. Always use your own best judgment, and that can't happen unless you have the facts.

You are NOT gonna wipe out those mouth bacteria no matter HOW hard you try. Nor should you be trying. The normal flora keep deadly invaders at bay through overwhelming competition for "resources".
