Saw Jim Hightower last night.

He was really funny. Here are just some rough notes I jotted down:

He said we should speak the truth but ride a fast horse. It is important to be an agitator and keep agitating. An agitator is the center post in the washing machine that gets the dirt out. Agitators built America. Thomas Paine, Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King and Caesar Chavez were all agitators.

We can't let the other side frame the issues. They promote the idea that our workers didn't mind working in those factories until those union agitators got involved.

Regarding the Bush administration, he said never have so many done so much for so few. They are changing America itself. He said in sex, using a feather can be erotic but using the whole chicken is kinky. Bush is kinky. He is like a sandflea on steroids. And he is an absolute corporate dream.

He brought up Tom Delay and said "You look at Tom DeLay and you think 100,000 sperm and YOU were the fastest?"

About Iraq, Hightower said if this war is so essential, where are Jenna and Barbara? Where are Bush's 8 nieces and nephews? If this war is not worth a Bush life it is not worth ANY life.

He said we have too many scaredy cat Dems. They legalize Bush's illegality. We must lean on the Democrats. They won't get better unless we make them.

But anyone who says you can't herd cats has never tried a canopener.

He talked about elections too. He said touch screen machines are faith based voting. He also said in Maine, 80% of the legislature has been elected without corporate money.

1. Great guy.
Hightower is one of the good ones. His rants against corporations and their search for cheap labor were one of the first ones I read when I started to explore the subject in depth. I got more involved thanks to him.

5. I am a fairly new fan
Our local community radio airs his show. In fact, he was here for a fundraiser for that radio station.
