John Edwards: 'We Need Paper Ballots' .... LINK
Election integrity in 2008 will likely rest on the ability to verify votes through the use of paper ballots. John Edwards has been out front on this issue. The Presidential Elections in 2000 and 2004 should have taught us the importance of being able to verify and recount votes. Hopefully the other candidates will join in supporting this effort to move away from electronic touch screen voting to paper ballots.

John Edwards: 'We Need Paper Ballots'

First Democratic Candidate to Answer Directly on the Issue, in Response to Why Tuesday?'s Candidate Challenge...

"What we need, is we need paper ballots, so votes can be verified," says John Edwards directly in response to Why Tuesday's video Candidate Challenge. He says a bunch of other good stuff on the topic as well in his brief response...

Edwards is the only Democratic candidate so far (12 candidates from both parties have so far answered the challenge issued by Why Tuesday's Jacob Soboroff) to speak that directly to the issue of paper ballots, and other needed reforms."

1. Yes John...
and we need them before 2008. But why wait three years to suggest this. I would have thought that your stolen election in 2004 would have been enough to get you to speak out before now.

2. Hand counted paper ballots COUNTED AT THE PRECINCT LEVEL, with full public witness
so we can verify the vote. How difficult is that-transparent elections? Guess they don't want us to know who really won.

5. Boy , he stunk up the joint last night. He need not worry about paper ballots
for himself, but hope he keeps fighting for the benefit of others

9. EXACTLY! Kucinich, was given little time but made effective use of his message.
Guess the corporate types would rather a candidate who DIDN'T speak truth to power!

10. It seems so obvious that Kucinich is ignored, and Hillary acts like she runs the Debate...
... jumping in any time she feels like it.

Wolfie did a terrible job. He told Kucinich he would get a chance, and then continued to ignore him.

Just like he told Edwards he would get a chance to respond to Hillary's personal attack on him, and then called on Joe Biden.

Wolfie played the corporate MSM role to the hilt.

But even though for some reason Kucinich keeps hammering Edwards when the two of them are most alike in their positions, I think Kucinich is getting a raw deal in these debates --and I am not afraid to say so.
